Hello my darling dance devotees! It's Emma here, your pink-tutu-loving ballerina, and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures with you. Today's journey took me to the charming seaside town of Ramsgate, Kent - a truly magical trip!

I woke up feeling like a sugar plum fairy, with the sun shining in my little Derbyshire cottage, making everything sparkle with a soft pink hue. It was a day made for twirling! But before I could get too caught up in my own ballerina fantasies, there was a train to catch. You know me, always on the move, and there's no better way to travel than by rail. It allows you to soak in the scenery and enjoy the gentle sway of the carriage.

The journey down to Ramsgate was absolutely lovely, passing by rolling green fields and quaint little villages. It felt like I was transported back in time, with its Victorian charm and gentle sea breeze. I popped my headphones in and listened to my favourite ballet music – it really got me into the mood for a fabulous day out.

Speaking of fabulous, I had to look the part. This time I'd chosen a whimsical creation - a tutu in the most stunning shade of coral pink! It was made of delicate layers of tulle and sprinkled with sequins, just waiting to catch the light and twirl beautifully. My ballet flats were a perfect match, and to finish off the look, I tied my hair up in a chic ballet bun, topped with a sparkling pink ribbon. This girl was ready to conquer the coast!

Arriving at Ramsgate was a sight to behold. It's so different from my usual Derbyshire landscapes, and the sea air was intoxicating! It’s easy to see why the seaside was a popular choice for holidays back in the day. Everything about the town has an old-world feel – the beautiful, pastel-coloured buildings, the Victorian arcades, the seagulls crying in the air. The first thing I did was grab a delightful cuppa and a scrumptious slice of cake at a charming cafe. Then, I embarked on a quest for some more ballet-related goodies.

Ramsgate has so much to offer! There are gorgeous independent boutiques tucked away in cobbled side streets, and I found some real gems: an adorable pink beret and a gorgeous coral-coloured scarf. The colours screamed "ballet chic!" After a little shopping spree, it was time to explore the historic streets further. I strolled along the esplanade, marveling at the beautiful architecture and enjoying the fresh sea air. The iconic Royal Harbour, with its colourful boats bobbing on the water, provided the perfect backdrop for a couple of impromptu pirouettes! You just have to move to the music, don't you?

As the sun began to set, painting the sky with a glorious array of colours, I headed for the beautiful Ramsgate Pavilion. My journey wouldn’t be complete without taking in some ballet, even if it was on a beach! Now, the Ramsgate Pavilion is no ordinary theatre – it has such incredible character and charm, perched right on the water’s edge! It really transports you back to the Victorian era with its grand balconies, marble pillars and high ceilings. And this night, a troupe of talented ballet dancers were performing a charming ballet based on the legend of the sea fairies. It was captivating! The costumes were stunning, the dancers were graceful, and the whole performance flowed with such fluidity and joy. I couldn’t resist a little leap out of my seat and some light clapping to express my love of ballet – everyone looked delighted, I couldn’t help feeling that everyone felt the pure joy of ballet.

Leaving Ramsgate, I felt completely rejuvenated and filled with inspiration. I boarded the train feeling inspired by my day out and brimming with the love of ballet. There's no better feeling than dancing the day away! And if you want to feel this happy and twirly, there is only one way - grab yourself a pink tutu, get your tickets for a local ballet performance and spread the joy of dancing everywhere you go.

Until next time, my darling readers, keep dancing!

Emma xx

P.S Did you know that Ramsgate is home to the Ramsgate Sea Safari company that offers amazing wildlife boat tours? Seeing playful dolphins, graceful seals, and majestic birds in their natural habitat made my heart skip a beat. And if you are interested in getting active outdoors, there’s a great scenic walking route on the cliffs near Ramsgate called The Viking Coastal Trail, where you can really work on your pliés! The landscape is wild and rugged with dramatic rock formations - definitely one for a serious ballerina who’s willing to take on the challenges! And it reminds me it’s not just ballet that I love - I’ve always been a wildlife lover!

P.P.S Don't forget to leave a comment below with your favourite ballet moments from this trip! I love reading your comments and finding new inspiration from you!
