Rainham Calling: Tutu Travels to Kent!

Oh my darlings,

You wouldn’t believe the adventures this little pink-tutu-clad lady has been having! The train journey down to Kent was so utterly dreamy, all rolling green fields and fluffy clouds drifting by the window. I did, of course, take a picture of a very sweet sheep family with my phone - gotta get those wildlife pics in, haven’t I? The air in the countryside feels so much fresher than the city, it's almost like you can actually taste the sunshine.

Rainham's Delight: Where Ballerinas Go

I'm in Rainham, a quaint little town that seems to have stepped straight out of a storybook. They say it’s not actually in London, but rather close by, in the lovely County of Kent. Whatever it is, it feels like a world away from the bustling streets of the city! And the main reason for my trip, my sweeties, is, of course, the glorious Rainham Ballet Centre. They are hosting a special workshop next week, and it’s simply not to be missed!

The moment I saw the centre, I knew I was going to love it. It's got this old-school charm to it, lovely brickwork with windows that seem to hold years of swirling tutus and tap shoes. They've got the most divine old-fashioned signs with calligraphy lettering for the ballet classes. It's positively vintage! It reminds me of the Royal Ballet School, and a million fabulous dreams. You just know it’s going to be full of magical ballet stories.

Tutufying the Town: Pink Power Everywhere

So, I arrived with my ever-faithful pink tutu (the one with the tiny diamantés that sparkles when the sun catches it - divine!) I even decided to throw on my matching pink beret – feeling ultra-feminine.

Let’s just say that Rainham definitely wasn't expecting a tutu-clad lady from Derbyshire. I got a few puzzled stares, but then came the big smiles. People here have this heartwarming openness to them that makes you feel all fuzzy and loved. They just get it, you see. I mean, you just can’t go wrong with pink! It's a shade that simply shines. It’s as iconic as a pair of pointe shoes. It’s as uplifting as a grand jeté. And my plan is simple: make this town pink with tutu love!

Tea Time: A Delightful Delight

After settling into the charming B&B with the sweetest proprietress - and let me tell you, it’s the one with the gorgeous lavender wallpaper, of course - I went on a search for the perfect place for afternoon tea. Now, Rainham’s tea scene is practically a world unto itself, darlings! But I have to say, the Vintage Rose Tearoom totally stole my heart. I practically fell head over heels for it.

Imagine a small, perfectly quaint tea room with a garden like a dream, all lush greenery and blooms, with beautiful floral china that feels just a little bit like Alice in Wonderland, and then you know you’ve hit a real winner. They did not disappoint with the homemade strawberry jam and scones - so absolutely perfect. I even persuaded the lovely tea lady to pose for a picture next to the beautiful flower beds (in my tutu, of course). I’ll have to post that to Instagram!

Onward to The Ballet Centre

Now, darling, you've got to hear about this special class - "Ballet Basics and Beyond"! This workshop is specially designed for the average person with no ballet experience (think me but before I started practicing!), and you can dress up in whatever you feel most beautiful in. I can already imagine a room full of twirling, sparkly women and (I really hope I’m not dreaming this!) even some lovely gentlemen (in tutus!). It’s like a giant tea party for those who love ballet and who want to embrace their inner ballerina. I simply had to be a part of it.

I'll be posting pics throughout the week - my latest TutuLook from Rainham, naturally! - and keep my dears updated on everything that's going on here. Wish me luck, because I just know it's going to be amazing!

Until then, may your days be filled with pink sparkles, fabulous leaps and graceful twirls.

Stay fabulous!

Lots of Love,

Emma xoxo
