Wishaw Whispers: Pink Tutu Adventures & American Style 🩰

Hello my darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the bustling little town of Wishaw. The train journey here was rather splendid, the scenery flying past like a scene from a ballet. Wishaw has a charming, old-fashioned feel, all quaint little streets and houses, reminding me of a little doll's house you might find in a museum.

Today's adventure? A rather special trip to a local dance school, where I'm on the hunt for the perfect tutu! You see, this little journey has been inspired by a wonderful book I just finished. "The Pink Tutu Diaries" (yes, it really is called that!) tells the story of an American ballerina who fell in love with London. She became known for her flamboyant style, always in bright colours and always wearing an extravagant tutu. Now, I've never been one for understatement when it comes to my ballet wardrobe, but this book has truly fired my imagination.

The dance school I found was like a hidden gem, tucked away down a tiny side street. The owner, a wonderfully bubbly lady named Mrs. Robinson, greeted me like an old friend. She immediately got my "pink tutu dream" and promised to guide me to the perfect one. I was so excited I almost started doing pirouettes right there on the spot!

As I browsed the selection of tutus, I was utterly spoilt for choice! There were tulle clouds of shimmering pink, a delicate powder blue that looked like a summer sky, and even a vibrant purple that would have made a princess proud. However, something about an American style tutu caught my eye. I have always been partial to a classic, traditional tutu, with its graceful lines and structured shape, but Mrs. Robinson insisted that this particular "American style" was something else entirely.

Apparently, it's all about volume and impact! Imagine a voluminous, cloud-like tulle that practically takes up a whole room! I was instantly drawn to the way the fabric floated and flowed, reminding me of a billowing pink dream. There was a boldness to this American style that I had never encountered before, and I simply had to have it.

And so, with Mrs. Robinson's expert help, I ended up selecting the most fabulous, billowing, blush pink, American style tutu. The owner had it custom-made in London! With every twist and twirl, I could practically feel the extra flourishes. It felt like magic, the way this tutu was so much more than a garment - it felt like a powerful statement!

After a very necessary photoshoot in the dance studio (which I may have had to squeeze into Mrs. Robinson's vintage convertible to create the perfect backdrop!), I treated myself to afternoon tea at a nearby cafe, called "The Sweet Surrender." It had the most beautiful floral dΓ©cor and the tastiest pastries!

My adventures in Wishaw have certainly been a pink tutu-licious delight! I can already picture myself wearing my new American style creation in my next ballet performance. Who knows what other unexpected style adventures await? I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings, because when it comes to ballet and my love of all things pink, there are always more discoveries to be made.

Until then, stay beautiful and keep those tutus twirling!

Emma
