Gateshead Calling! Tutu Tales From a Pink Paradise (Post #3913)

Hello darlings! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Gateshead, and let me tell you, it was absolutely divine! The journey, the performance, the entire experience – it was simply pink-tastic!

You know me, I’m always on the lookout for a bit of tutu magic. My pink-hued spirit was calling out for adventure, and a train trip seemed the perfect way to satisfy the call. A vintage carriage, big comfy seats, and of course, a steaming cuppa - it was pure bliss. Oh, and I couldn't resist wearing my latest tutu creation, a dazzling white confection that spun with every twist and turn of the carriage!

I arrived in Gateshead buzzing with anticipation! My goal was to take in the grandest, most inspiring performance of The Nutcracker imaginable, and you betcha I wasn't disappointed. The moment I stepped inside the theater, I felt my inner ballerina twirling! There was this beautiful buzz of excitement in the air, and the entire room was aglow with pink light - they were clearly playing right to my heart!

The performance was exquisite. The costumes, the music, the passion - it just filled me with wonder and delight. I can’t tell you how much I love the way dancers make it all look so effortless. Their grace, strength, and artistry make me want to run and take a class myself! The Sugar Plum Fairy was pure enchantment, and I practically choked on my sweets while watching the Waltz of the Snowflakes. Honestly, the whole thing left me completely swept away.

After the performance, I couldn’t resist heading straight to the theatre cafe to get my fill of gossip and excitement with the other Tutu-Lovers. We talked about our favourite parts, our favourite ballerinas, our favourite tutus… it was basically a girly-dream come true.

Of course, no trip to Gateshead would be complete without exploring the surrounding countryside. And that's exactly what I did! I went horse riding in the beautiful countryside. Riding a horse, I feel like I’m actually soaring – such a freeing experience! My gorgeous chestnut mare, Hazel, and I explored some lovely green spaces.

While I was there, I also bumped into some rather lovely feathered friends - ducks, swans, and geese! Now, I adore all creatures, big or small, but there’s just something magical about seeing wildlife, especially those with a touch of pink (I'm talking about flamingos here, but those were nowhere to be found in the British countryside. Sigh).

I even spotted a little pink bird, its feathers shining in the midday sun - the tiniest splash of colour against a lush green backdrop! It felt like a tiny sign from the universe, a confirmation that I'm truly living my best pink life!

As I headed back to Derbyshire, I couldn't help but reflect on my trip. I feel so incredibly lucky to have such passion for dance and travel! And honestly, you know what's even more exciting? Spreading that passion to everyone around me! Seeing more people embrace the graceful elegance of ballet and wear a little touch of pink magic in their lives would just be absolutely divine!

Until next time darlings! Keep twirling and stay pink!

Love,

Emma xoxo
