Wembley Wonder: A Tutu Takeover

Post #3923 - www.pink-tutu.com - 31st March 2007

Oh, hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, and today I’m bringing you a veritable whirlwind of tutus, travel tales, and, of course, pink!

The journey began yesterday, a sunny Sunday, as I hopped on a train, that familiar thrill of anticipation already building in my tummy. This time, I was heading for Wembley – the iconic stadium, but more importantly, the home of a fabulous ballet show! The air hummed with a delightful mix of excited chatter, the rhythmic clinking of trolley wheels, and that faint whiff of popcorn you can only experience on a good old-fashioned day out.

And then, as if I were a character in a fairytale, there I was! Wembley, towering over the surrounding streets like a proud giant, beckoned me towards its vast, welcoming doors. You see, I'd carefully planned my outfit for this momentous occasion – a gorgeous, full-length pink tulle tutu (just imagine it, swirling in the breeze!) paired with a chic little black top, the ultimate elegant yet daring combination! The tutus always seem to become even more spectacular in London; the whole atmosphere seems to lend them an air of majesty. Perhaps it’s the history, the grandeur of the architecture, or maybe it's just the sheer brilliance of these incredible garments – but London has a special magic, and it elevates my tutus to another level!

Inside, Wembley was buzzing, a hive of activity where excitement hung in the air like a delicious scent. Families, couples, groups of friends, all converging on their chosen seats. But even amid the crowd, there was a sense of unity. This was, after all, an event dedicated to the magical world of ballet.

The ballet was a captivating performance – a tale of love, loss, and ultimately, triumph, beautifully woven into graceful movements and captivating storytelling. The choreography was dazzling, the music entrancing, and the dancers' athleticism simply breathtaking! It left me in awe – a feeling that stays with you long after the curtain falls.

I can’t help but notice a growing trend towards what I’ve affectionately dubbed ‘ballet street’, where the classic elegance of ballet is finding its way into the streets and fashion world. It’s so exciting to see ballet moving beyond the traditional theatre spaces and making itself known to a wider audience. You see a touch of that elegant line, that sense of artistry, on the catwalks, in magazines, and even on the high street! I'm all for blending the grace and artistry of ballet into everyday life! And why shouldn't we? Life should be as graceful as a ballerina, wouldn't you say?

I was particularly drawn to a dance sequence that featured a gorgeous, long flowing scarf. You know I adore silk scarves – the feeling of their movement as they dance on the breeze is like the world suddenly becoming fluid and ethereal. But the scarf here had a real elegance – like it was the extension of the ballerina's own body, moving with effortless grace. It reminded me of the beautiful creatures I often see at my favourite nature reserve back in Derbyshire - the graceful flight of a pheasant, the elegance of a deer gliding through the undergrowth, and of course, the delicate flutter of butterflies! There’s so much beauty in nature if we just take a moment to truly observe it, and perhaps that's why it inspires me so much when I choose my dance attire, blending my passion for tutus with a love for natural beauty. And this scarf in the ballet just reinforced it!

As I made my way out of Wembley, the city lights shimmering against the twilight sky, I found myself lost in thought. A good show always seems to have this effect on me. But today, the feeling was particularly profound. Perhaps it was the grand spectacle of Wembley, or maybe the sheer magic of the ballet itself, or perhaps it was simply the joy of embracing this incredible passion I have for the art form.

Either way, this Wembley wonder filled my heart with so much inspiration and joy. And you know me - inspiration translates to tutus! So, the hunt is on! My mind is bursting with ideas for new tutu designs – tutus inspired by this stunning ballet, perhaps some touches of graceful floral embroidery, and definitely some of that flowy scarf feeling incorporated.

The journey home on the train, while perhaps lacking the exciting atmosphere of the journey there, still carried its own charm. The rhythmic rocking motion always allows my mind to wander, and my imagination runs wild. My mind was dancing – swirling like those lovely pink tulle skirts, conjuring up images of my next creations, ready to add to my already bursting wardrobe of tulle wonders.

This weekend’s Wembley escapade will stay with me for a long time to come - a testament to the beauty, grace, and artistry of ballet. As I finish this blog post, I feel a powerful surge of excitement bubbling inside me. After all, that's the very essence of ballet, isn't it? The freedom, the emotion, the captivating magic that washes over you like a warm embrace. And who knows, perhaps next week, my lovelies, I'll have a beautiful new creation ready for you – another step in my grand, ambitious plan: To get the world wearing pink tutus and falling in love with ballet, one pirouette at a time!

Until next time,

Emma xo
