Bath Beauty & The Ballet Babe! (Post #3928)

Oh my darlings,

The train journey down to Bath was just dreamy! It was one of those beautiful, sunny days that just make you want to twirl in a field of buttercups (though I opted for the train carriage instead, of course!) I wore my little lavender-coloured tutu, the one with the sequins that sparkle like stars on a moonless night. You know the one, right? It always gets so much attention - which is how it should be! Every tutu deserves to shine, just like every single one of you gorgeous ladies out there.

Speaking of gorgeous, Bath itself is simply breathtaking! We all know that Bath is famous for its gorgeous Georgian architecture and the iconic Roman Baths. It's such a lovely city. I just can't get over the beauty and history that practically bursts from every corner. And don't even get me started on the yummy pastries and little tea shops... I'm in heaven! They're totally my kind of jam.

After checking into our hotel - oh, darling, it had the most fabulous chandelier in the lobby, you wouldn't believe! - it was time for my very special treat. Ballet at the Theatre Royal Bath. Now, I'm no stranger to a ballet performance, darling, but this was truly magical. It was Swan Lake, the classic! I mean, who doesn't adore the beauty of the graceful swans, the captivating prince, the drama, the romantic music... everything about it was simply sublime.

The ballerina dancing the role of Odette/Odile was a truly phenomenal dancer! She moved with such poise, strength, and emotion, capturing every nuance of the character so perfectly. And the rest of the company were just brilliant, the supporting cast just as stunning!

I almost cried during the famous white swan pas de deux! The beauty of the choreography was just so intense. Seeing those two ballerinas glide across the stage, like swans soaring through the air, filled me with pure joy. Oh, and speaking of swans! There was a lovely, small pond just across from the theatre, and guess who decided to have a impromptu swan spotting session! Yep, your girl! And of course, I just had to try to imitate their grace in the reflection of the water... Just a little twirl, you know? A moment of ballet magic in Bath.

Then, darling, there was a real highlight of my day. I stumbled upon the cutest little ballet shop, tucked away in a cobbled street just behind the Roman Baths. Oh, the delights that awaited! I snagged myself a darling little pink tutu, a true gem, made of softest tulle and adorned with tiny pink sequins. It's so dainty, it fits like a second skin, but the most magnificent thing about this tutu... It is so narrow. It literally sits just a fraction of an inch above the knee, the tiniest little wisp of pink fabric! Honestly, darling, it practically dares you to twirl. (Spoiler alert: I didn't resist!)

And to top off my day, we took a lovely carriage ride. My absolute dream! Horse-drawn carriages in a town with such beautiful historical architecture? It was a magical journey back in time. I'm totally dreaming of trying horse-riding now... And how cool would it be to do it while wearing my gorgeous new narrow pink tutu? Maybe next time, darlings.

Now, I'm sitting here in my hotel room, feeling totally exhausted but exhilarated, all those magical moments in Bath just dancing through my head... Oh, and also because I tried a ridiculously elaborate pastry called "the Bath Bun" after my swan sighting. Maybe I should get back to a healthy lifestyle.

Tomorrow, we head back to Derbyshire... a long train journey back home but one which I'll relish, because it gives me plenty of time to think about everything and everyone and especially this new tutu that will become a part of my favourite outfit choices for sure. After all, you can never have too many tutus in life, darlings, and if there's one thing that this whole Bath adventure taught me, it's to live, love, and dance every single day!

Love and twirls,

Emma
