Harrogate: A Tutu-ful Day Out!

Post number 3957

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, writing to you from the gorgeous spa town of Harrogate, where the air smells of roses (or is that just my amazing new pink perfume? šŸ˜‰). Itā€™s been a bit of a whirlwind few days, as you lovely lot know, with me being all over the place, so today Iā€™m just going to catch you up on my latest adventure, and tell you about my delightful time in Harrogate.

This charming little town is absolutely brimming with charm and history. Cobblestone streets, grand architecture, and oh, the tea shops! The perfect spot to escape the bustle of the big city, and let me tell you, my little pink heart was tickled pink to be there.

Of course, no trip to Harrogate would be complete without a little bit of ballet, wouldnā€™t it? This time, I didnā€™t just go to see a show. Oh no, this was more personal, more immersive, more magical. I spent an entire morning at the Harrogate Dance Academy, taking a delightful ballet class with the most delightful teacher. Now, Iā€™ve done ballet for a million years (and danced with some of the world's finest) but I've always been drawn to smaller dance schools - itā€™s where I get my energy, where the creativity feels raw, and most importantly where I can soak in the spirit of the budding ballerina. I got my Tutu twirl on, had the giggles, did all the little jumps and lunges, felt the magic, and left feeling more graceful, happy, and even slightly fitter, even after all the pastries I had at Betty's afterwards (you'll have to trust me when I say Betty's is a MUST VISIT!).

Later that afternoon, I found myself in the beautiful surroundings of Harlow Carr Gardens. Can you believe I actually got a little overwhelmed by all the beauty and colour? It was a sensory explosion! They say thereā€™s beauty to be found in every leaf and every bloom, and that's truer here than anywhere else. Of course, I didnā€™t just admire the scenery, I incorporated my passion for wildlife too! It seems there are these wonderful red squirrels running wild in the gardens - I can't resist a cute animal, so naturally, I followed their tiny tracks with the enthusiasm of a child, (but in a more dignified manner, of course! šŸ˜‰)

Evening came around, and it was time for another cultural experience - this time, I ventured into the Harrogate Theatre, for a wonderfully theatrical and vibrant production of ā€œTwelfth Nightā€ (if Shakespeare wasn't meant for ballet, I don't know what is!) Thereā€™s nothing quite like seeing Shakespeare brought to life in a different medium, and it always blows my mind! All those costumes and set pieces are absolutely dazzling and it never fails to make me feel giddy and a bit whimsical. I know what you're thinking: did I wear a pink tutu? I certainly did - just a little subtle pink, this time, as the theatre has quite a "classic" vibe. I figured it was best to embrace their tradition whilst bringing a little bit of my pink-tutu magic to the evening!

Iā€™m now writing this post from the plush surroundings of the majestic grand hotel, overlooking the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, and enjoying the gentle aroma of freshly baked muffins! It's the perfect end to a perfect day - just me, a warm cup of Earl Grey (well, a pink china cup filled with earl Grey of course, the hotel's been good to me!), my journal, and this lovely blog. This time of year is so magical for travelling! It feels like you are right on the edge of the summer - but there's just a bit more chill in the air! Makes the whole experience extra magical, and makes it all the more delightful to think about, afterwards!

The highlight? I think the highlight was finding a local stall where they were selling the cutest tiny pink tutus! I couldn't resist picking one up - for a certain little bunny rabbit thatā€™s going to be the newest member of my family. (Yes, you read that right. My newest family member is a bunny! I told you itā€™s a crazy time for me!). Heā€™s going to look so darling in his tutu. It will match his personality perfectly: bright, cheerful, playful, just like me! Youā€™ll have to wait and see how he takes to it! Maybe Iā€™ll do a bunny blog! (Oh gosh! Now you know how much I adore tutus, I'm starting to sound crazy, I know). Anyway, more on that soon!

Keep twirling darlings, and never be afraid to dream! Emma

xx
