Boston Bound, Baby! (Post #3969)

Hello my darling dears,

It's Emma here, reporting live from… well, actually I'm still in Derbyshire. But you know me, always planning! Today's post is all about a huge dream of mine - a trip to the wonderful city of Boston, in the United States! This has been on my bucket list for ages, and guess what? It's finally happening!

Yes, my lovelies, this fabulous, tutu-wearing, pink-loving girly is jetting off on the big wide adventure very soon! Now, you're probably wondering why Boston, right? Well, naturally, it's the birthplace of the iconic American Ballet Theatre, and I just can't wait to see their breathtaking performances! My dear friend, Chloe (who just happens to be the most amazing ballerina in our ballet school!), is coming with me. We're planning on spending two glorious weeks exploring, twirling, and enjoying everything Boston has to offer.

But first, we've got to pack! I've already got my suitcase prepped, and I think I have my entire tutu collection packed in there! Well, maybe not entirely, I did have to leave a few for home. After all, you can't have a girl going out and about with zero tutus in her house, can you? That would be a tragedy, right?! Thankfully, though, Chloe’s a great pal, so she'll have me covered – she's coming with her full collection too!

So what else is going in my suitcase? Well, it wouldn't be me without a whole rainbow of pink – my pink converse sneakers (the perfect match to my pink tutu), my bright pink scarf, my rose-tinted sunnies (for when the sunshine makes me twinkle), and, of course, my pink flamingo float! You know I love my animal friends! Who can resist the fabulous flamboyance of a flamingo?

Our journey? Well, this time, we're going by air! My dream has always been to travel by horse, though, just like they do in the ballet… but you can’t win 'em all, can you? I think even the fastest horse in Derbyshire would have trouble getting to Boston! And who knows what sort of trouble we might find ourselves in! So, a lovely, comfortable aeroplane it is, with its lovely comfortable seats…

Speaking of comfortable seats, the journey to Boston is about 7 hours! I can see me writing a huge pile of blog posts on that journey - oh, I just can't wait! We're hoping to meet loads of fellow ballet fanatics along the way – you never know!

You see, my darlings, ballet and travel are two of my favourite things in life. And now, I get to combine them! Dream come true! The first day of our adventures? Well, I can already tell you, we'll be watching a performance by the American Ballet Theatre, at the Metropolitan Opera House. Oh my! It’s a real-life dream for me!

Of course, we can’t forget the food! You're probably thinking "lobster" - and you're not wrong! We're gonna feast on Boston's famous clam chowder, and I've been told they do the BEST donuts. I'm talking a double chocolate donut (with sprinkles, of course!). Oh, I'm already getting hungry thinking about it!

But wait, it's not just about ballet and donuts – so boring! It's also about discovering the heart and soul of Boston. Chloe and I are gonna wander down cobbled streets, maybe visit the Boston Public Library (the prettiest place in the world, honestly!), explore the history of this beautiful city, and discover all the hidden treasures tucked away in the city’s corners! And of course, we'll have to find some super fashionable places to buy some souvenirs – it wouldn’t be a trip to America without a few trinkets and goodies to remember it by.

Now, you’re probably all super jealous, aren't you? But don’t worry! I'm going to bring you all along on my adventures through this amazing journey. I'll be sharing my experience every single day! So check back in here to join me, every step of the way, and I'll tell you all about every exciting minute, every incredible dance, and all the beautiful things that we discover.

Just like that little frog I saw this morning hopping through the wildflowers. It reminds me of why I want everyone to wear a pink tutu - it just adds so much colour and beauty to the world! You don't need to be a ballet dancer to be beautiful and twirly – you just have to let that lovely bit of sunshine out of you. Just like me and my love of pink tutus - pink for the wonderful feeling of twirling!

Now, off I go to get ready for the flight. Remember to check back tomorrow to hear all about my adventures. Sending you all loads of pink tutu magic!

Love and twirls,

Emma.
