Crosby, a Tutu Dream! (Post #4002)
Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from a delightful jaunt to Crosby, that gorgeous seaside town just a stone's throw from my beloved Derbyshire. As you all know, I adore travelling, and what better way to get there than by train? I packed my latest love โ a cyan tutu, absolutely divine against the backdrop of the seaside, don't you think? My suitcase was overflowing with pink delights โ a gorgeous vintage hat and gloves, a pair of killer pink pumps, and of course, the ever-present pink lipstick.
Crosby itself is pure magic. You get that seaside charm - the salty breeze, the sound of seagulls, and the scent of freshly made fish and chips (which I, of course, enjoyed with a side of mushy peas!)
Now, I'm not just about the aesthetics, you know! My heart skipped a beat when I discovered the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre. This is a hidden gem, nestled amidst the picturesque scenery, and perfect for the adventurous side of my nature. They had everything, from horse riding to water sports to nature trails โ all nestled alongside the breathtaking views of the Irish Sea.
As much as I love ballet, a bit of exercise outside of the studio is vital. So I saddled up for a horseback ride through the countryside. The air was alive with the scent of wildflowers and the distant cries of seagulls. It was magical, just like something out of a fairytale! It definitely gave my tutu an impromptu whirl and gave me an excuse for some serious prancing about.
But let's be honest, what's a trip to the seaside without a visit to the beach, and a stroll along the promenade? I found myself happily soaking up the sun and sand, feeling utterly relaxed and completely at home in my bright cyan tutu. Honestly, I think it stole the show! It shimmered in the sun, making every step a happy little pirouette.
Of course, no seaside visit is complete without a delightful spot of sea wildlife spotting. We were lucky to spot seals bobbing in the water, playful dolphins leaping and twirling, and a host of beautiful birds, each with their unique plumage. It was a ballet performance in nature, breathtaking and serene, with the perfect backdrop of the beautiful Mersey coastline.
Speaking of breathtaking ballet performances, I was thrilled to attend a show at the Floral Pavilion Theatre in New Brighton. This charming little theatre offered an evening of delightful dance โ graceful ballets, upbeat contemporary pieces, and some beautiful street performances, all of which inspired me to pull out my pink tutu and practice a few steps myself (after all, I always carry a portable barre in my travel bag โ you never know when the mood will strike!).
In conclusion, this little trip to Crosby was the perfect antidote to a busy week. From the magical seaside to the stunning wildlife, the beautiful countryside to the delightful ballet performances, it's left me feeling rejuvenated, inspired and oh-so-pink! Remember, my dears, a little bit of pink and a splash of tutu magic can truly make any journey an adventure!
Keep twirling!
