Barnet Bound, Baby! 🩰💖

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite Derbyshire ballerina, Emma, here, and guess what? I'm off on another adventure, this time to the delightful little town of Barnet. I just adore getting out and exploring, and honestly, what's more fun than a train journey to a new town? It just feels so wonderfully adventurous, doesn't it? And as soon as I got to the station, I knew this trip was going to be extra special! Why? Well, because it was PINK, of course!

They'd just put up these new posters for a local charity event - a bake sale and fashion show, all in aid of animal welfare! My heart absolutely skipped a beat because, you know, pink! I mean, honestly, how much more perfect can a day get? So, I grabbed my trusty phone, snapped a few pics, and knew right away I was going to incorporate a touch of pink into my outfit today. What better way to show my support for a cause that's so close to my heart than with a splash of my favourite colour?

Now, let me tell you, choosing a tutu for a day like this was no easy feat! It was a seriously difficult decision. Would it be the "Prima Ballerina" tulle, billowing and dreamily pink? Or perhaps the more whimsical "Buttercup" with its vibrant, almost neon hue? Decisions, decisions... After a quick consultation with my trusted "Tutu Guide" app (seriously, it's a thing! You NEED one!), I landed on the "Sunrise" - a gloriously vibrant mix of soft, ethereal pink and fiery coral. Perfect!

Off I went, twirling my way through Barnet with my pink-hued tulle catching the sunlight like a joyful beacon. Honestly, the more I see others' reactions to my tutu, the more I feel it’s doing its job – reminding everyone that joy, whimsy, and a bit of sparkly flair should be incorporated into our daily lives!

Now, this little adventure wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Barnet Arts Centre. This lovely little space was hosting an impromptu open mic night for local dancers. I practically flew through the doors (after a quick shimmy, of course, it's just habit!), ready to immerse myself in the beauty of movement and creativity. And let me tell you, this little gem of a town did NOT disappoint.

Some truly incredible talent was on display. We had a delightful young contemporary dancer who channeled emotions through every ripple and turn of her body, and then there was this delightful elderly lady who blew everyone away with her strength and grace – ballet, truly is an art form for every stage of life!

Even my “Sunrise” tutu attracted some attention from other attendees. Apparently, the owner of the Arts Centre has been running a ballet-themed dance class for children - the most heartwarming moment was when they rushed up to me, their little eyes wide with wonder. It filled me with such joy - their enthusiasm and wonder. You know, it really goes to show that love for dance and movement knows no age, no background.

I found myself joining in with their class for a quick waltz. It’s always a joy to share my love of ballet with anyone who wants to give it a try. Honestly, the biggest joy for me? Just seeing those kids dance freely and fearlessly, and just for a moment, they had all the grace and confidence in the world. That is truly inspiring.

After a bit of pirouette practice (I simply couldn't resist!), I headed out to explore the little town a little more. And that’s when I came across the animal welfare event. The "Paws for Pink" event! Now, if there's one thing I love as much as tutus and dancing, it's furry friends.

The event was packed, a whirlwind of baking, crafting, and animal-loving goodness. There were so many sweet creatures, all looking for their forever homes. And naturally, with the abundance of pink present at the event, it made me think about how this incredible colour symbolizes not just fun and excitement but also gentleness and care. Perfect for those fluffy friends!

I ended the day with a heart brimming with joy and my tutu filled with stories. You know what? A day in Barnet reminded me why I love my life, my pink tutus, and dancing! You simply can’t go wrong with a day spent exploring a new place, immersing yourself in new experiences, and of course, wearing something that makes you feel happy. And frankly, with an afternoon of tutus, a whirlwind of pink, and lots of furry friends, you just can’t beat it.

Till next time, darlings! Love,

Emma

P.S. Stay tuned for more of my adventures on my little pink tutu journey. Let's spread the pink love, one twirl at a time!
