Bicester Bound in a Blush-Pink Tutu! (Post #4092)

Hey loves! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballet enthusiast, reporting live from… Bicester! 🩰🌸

Yep, you heard right! This Derbyshire girl is venturing out of her usual stomping ground for a little bit of culture, courtesy of the wonderful train line (always my favourite mode of transport, let's be honest).

I have to say, my pink tutu definitely caused a stir on the journey. Not only did the fellow passengers smile at me (you can't deny the charm of a twirling pink tulle skirt, right?), but a couple of young ladies even stopped to ask about the "amazing tutu!" (Turns out, I might have inspired one of them to consider joining their local ballet school... fingers crossed! 💖)

Anyway, the reason for my trip? The gorgeous "Cinderella" ballet! It's showing at a new, lovely little theatre in Bicester, and I'm so excited. It's by a travelling company I've been wanting to see for ages, and I even hear they've incorporated some fabulous street dance elements. That's one of my biggest loves, the way contemporary styles are weaving themselves into classical ballet – it's just so exciting and innovative! ✨

Now, as a ballerina who is always looking for the perfect performance outfit (no judgment, it's my life's passion, OK!), you know I couldn't leave the house without my trusty blush-pink tutu. This one is from my favourite independent Italian boutique in Nottingham, and it’s seriously stunning. The hand-stitched embellishments are intricate and delicate, and it flows so beautifully. Plus, it makes me feel like a real-life princess - ready to take on the world! 👑

Oh, and before I forget, I picked up some delicious homemade chocolate from a little stall in the train station – Bicester knows how to treat a girl!

I'm going to take some gorgeous photos at the theatre tonight, of course, so be sure to check them out on Instagram later. You'll probably catch me twirling outside in my pink tutu too – a little impromptu ballet in the beautiful evening air just sounds too good to miss! 💃

A Ballet Bloggers’ Top Tips for Making Your Ballet Outfit Sing!

Since you all know I love a good ballet ensemble (who doesn’t!), here’s a little insider's tip for all you aspiring tutu wearers out there. 😉

  • Don’t be afraid to stand out! Yes, a ballet outfit needs to be practical, but why not add a touch of your personality with colour or details? I'm all about my pink, but there are endless possibilities to make your outfit truly you.

  • Get creative! Accessories are your friend! From shimmering earrings to a whimsical hair clip, the possibilities are endless.

  • Always prioritize comfort! Ballet demands so much movement, you want your clothes to be breathable and easy to move in. Look for stretchy, comfortable fabrics that don’t hinder your steps.

  • Most importantly, OWN IT! Confidence is key, darlings! Let your outfit enhance your grace and let your personality shine.

I hope my pink-tutu adventures are inspiring you all to explore the world of dance! Maybe you’ll find yourself in a Bicester theatre tonight, too – it’s certainly not to be missed. 🩰💫

But regardless of your location, let’s all make this day extra special by throwing on our tutus (pink or any other color) and twirling with reckless abandon! After all, who doesn't feel empowered by a twirling pink tulle skirt?! 😉

Until next time,
