Gloucester, Oh Gloucester!

Hello darlings! Emma here, back from a delightful trip to Gloucester. You wouldn't believe the adventures I had, all in one fabulous day. You see, dear readers, I firmly believe that life should be embraced with a dash of sparkle, a pinch of whimsy, and of course, the ultimate touch of pink - hence my darling tutu!

This time, my tutu wasn't just any tutu; it was my "Gloucester Garden" creation. I had a blast hand-painting it with beautiful butterflies, swirling flower designs, and even a tiny robin perched on a branch. Let me tell you, it was positively dazzling.

And what's a trip to Gloucester without a good old fashioned horse-drawn carriage? Let's just say I felt like Cinderella going to the ball, but with a decidedly less-Cinderella-esque tutu, and the added benefit of the carriage driver letting me lead the way. The horses were so majestic! They were such lovely gentle creatures, a far cry from the skittish ones they portray in the movies. I just couldn't help myself; I had to share a quick photo on Insta with a hashtag #HorsePower.

My first stop was the Gloucester Cathedral, a breathtaking beauty that seemed to rise out of the ground. You know me, I can't go anywhere without a little pirouette - but let's just say I had to stick to a little chassΓ© this time, those massive stained-glass windows would have been way too high to leap over. Plus, I didn't want to give any tourists a fright.

After the Cathedral, it was off to the Gloucester Docks. Now, I'm all for a good glass of bubbly on the deck of a yacht, but my real excitement was reserved for the little shop right by the water filled with shells and wildlife prints. It's not often I get to shop for both my tutus and my wildlife books! I snapped up a magnificent print of a stag grazing in a field, and a collection of little shell ornaments, which I know will be perfectly adorable scattered on the dressing table back in my little Derbyshire cottage.

That night, it was off to the Royal Spa Hotel in Cheltenham for an evening performance of 'Swan Lake'. Honestly, dear readers, it was absolutely exquisite! A little birdie told me it was supposed to be quite different from the original. They added all kinds of dramatic interpretations, but the ballerina who played Odette/Odile was simply incredible. I felt so inspired, all I wanted to do was find the nearest ballet studio and do some spins!

The train back to Derbyshire was magical. A charming conductor offered me a cup of tea, and as the countryside rushed by, the sun began to set over the hills, painting the clouds in a glorious pink hue - which is perfect because let's be honest, my favourite colour has to be pink. The view from the carriage window was practically begging for a picture, but alas, no selfies were taken. A proper ballerina is never vain, you see. My darling pink tutu had to be the star of the show!

Now, you all know I adore sharing my pink tutu love with the world. But don't think my heart isn't as deeply touched by the wild side of nature. I really want to show you all that embracing the world, whether it's through graceful twirls or marveling at the beauty of nature, can truly enrich your life. It's about being open to adventure, finding beauty in unexpected places, and always, always wearing a smile - just like a real ballerina should.

So tell me, dear readers, what adventures have you been having? Have you ever been to Gloucester? Have you ever worn a pink tutu? Share your stories with me - the more adventures we share, the brighter and more colourful our world will be! And remember, no matter where you are, you can always bring a little bit of magic and grace to your day with a tutu. Remember, everyone can dance. It's all about expressing yourself with joy!

See you soon, Emma xx
