Hastings, Darling! Post #4190

Helloooo lovelies!

Well, it's a crisp December morning here in Hastings, and this pink flamingo is ready to embrace the day with all the fabulousness it can muster! Did you know that Hastings is one of the oldest towns in Britain? I mean, you don't get a title like '1066 Country' without being pretty darn historic, do you?

I took the train down here, of course. I absolutely adore the journey on those vintage carriages - all mahogany and plush seats. Makes me feel like a princess (even more than I usually do!).

Anyway, this weekend is all about the ballet! I've been invited to perform in a charity show, and I'm just thrilled to be back on stage. I haven't actually been on a stage since we danced at The Lowry in Manchester back in September. It feels so good to get back to it. Plus, this one's extra special because I'll be in my brand new, white tutu. You just wouldn't believe the sparkle, it's almost… radiant.

Speaking of sparkle, Hastings is utterly delightful! The beach was totally rocking the wintery-cool vibe yesterday. And the views, darling, the views are simply * breathtaking*. You've got this iconic old castle perched on the cliffs, and then miles and miles of rugged coastline stretching out before you. It's the perfect backdrop for a tutu-clad adventurer.

Before heading to the show, I decided to have a little fun. Who needs fancy shopping streets when you can wander down the High Street in your favourite tutu? Heads turned, you could almost hear the giggles, and a few cheeky fellas even stopped to say hello. I told you, the tutu is a power move! 😉

I popped into a little antique shop, you know the sort, full of dusty charm and treasures waiting to be discovered. And I'm telling you, it's just bursting with quirky things that would look fabulous in my Derbyshire cottage! Just imagine… an ornate teapot with my grandmother's delicate floral china, vintage costume jewellery hanging from a shabby chic chandelier… oh darling, I'm already designing the next renovation!

The charity event was a roaring success! I'm not going to lie, being in the limelight makes this pink flamingo's heart flutter. You've got all eyes on you, and the sheer passion and artistry - oh, it's exhilarating! Afterwards, a few of the performers, the sweethearts, joined me for a glass of bubbly.

Tutu-ly fab times!

We went to the little cafe on the harbour, the smell of salty sea air and freshly baked scones was just heavenly. It really made me feel so grateful for the small things, you know? It’s moments like this, those little flashes of pure joy, that make life so wonderful!

Speaking of wonderful, have you ever considered ballet, darling? Maybe a couple of lessons would help you discover that inner flamingo! Believe me, it’s the most graceful, elegant and beautiful form of expression out there. You'll feel lighter, stronger, more confident – it's all those lovely things wrapped into one magnificent dance. You'll learn to fly! Just like that, psssht… you’re twirling across the stage!

Today, however, is for relaxation. It's a gorgeous morning in Hastings, and my lovelies, it's calling to me. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be hitting that beach with my trusty tutu bag – full of sparkly surprises of course! Just picture it: me, a white tutu and this picturesque coastline... What could possibly go wrong?

Until next time, darling,

Emma xx
