East Ham Calling! Tutu Adventures (Post #4209)

Hey gorgeous gals! Emma here, back with another instalment from my tutu-tastic travels! 🩰💖

Today, I'm bringing you all the sparkle and sunshine of a recent trip to East Ham! This was a delightful change from my usual countryside jaunts (although, a quick ride on my trusty steed always makes my heart flutter, you know?).

As a true pink-loving ballerina, I couldn't resist a visit to this vibrant borough known for its historical charm and vibrant community. Did you know it’s the birthplace of the brilliant West End actress, Barbara Windsor?! Just the thought of all the fabulous costumes she might have donned sends shivers of excitement down my spine. 😉

My journey began on the train, as always. You wouldn’t believe the looks I got from other passengers. Apparently, wearing a blush-pink feather tutu in public transport isn’t something everyone’s used to. But hey, that’s my way of adding a touch of magic to the everyday. Besides, who doesn’t appreciate a bit of tutu-tastic flair? 💖

Speaking of magic, my day in East Ham was a whirlwind of colour, creativity and joy. My first stop was the majestic East Ham Town Hall. You could practically smell history in the air – or maybe it was the delicious aromas wafting from the nearby cafe. The building itself is an architectural masterpiece, and it made me think of the opulent theatres I’ve performed in – so much inspiration to be found in these grand halls!

From there, I headed to the stunning Plashet Park, a true hidden gem with winding pathways and lush green spaces. Imagine my delight when I found myself surrounded by a whole flock of vibrant, pink flamingos. What a stroke of luck! It almost felt like a fairytale, like I’d stumbled upon a secret paradise filled with dancing ballerinas and majestic birds. It was the perfect backdrop for a little impromptu tutu twirling session – can’t resist a bit of movement, you know!

You can bet I also found some brilliant shops to browse! My absolute favourite was a delightful vintage shop packed with pre-loved trinkets and treasures. A pink velvet brooch, a beautifully beaded handbag… It was like stepping back in time and I managed to snag a few truly amazing pieces that’ll add some vintage glamour to my next tutu ensemble.

No trip would be complete without a delicious cuppa and some tasty treats, and East Ham delivered in style. I stumbled upon the most adorable cafe nestled between quaint antique stores, complete with delicate pink floral wallpaper and the tastiest homemade cakes – a ballerina's dream! It was just what I needed to re-fuel after a day filled with exploring, especially with my big pink fluffy tutu.

Overall, East Ham, you completely won my heart. The warmth of the community, the enchanting beauty of your parks, and the inspiring history… you’re a real treasure! And speaking of treasures, I simply have to share with you all the gorgeous dancewear shop I discovered. It was packed with stunning tutus in every colour imaginable. I might have spent just a little bit too long there… But hey, it's not my fault, it's a tutu emergency!

So, if you’re looking for a little adventure, some real life inspiration, and a whole lot of fun, East Ham is the perfect destination for you! Don’t forget your dancing shoes (and maybe a pink feather tutu!)

I can't wait to share more of my travels with you. But for now, darling gals, it's time to twirl. 😉

Stay beautiful and always believe in the magic of pink. 💕

Lots of love,

Emma
