East Kilbride: Tutu-ing Around in the Tartan Land!

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, back from another fabulously pink adventure. Today, I'm sharing all about my trip to East Kilbride, Scotland! (Think big city vibes, with a hint of countryside charm – yes, really!)

Let me tell you, East Kilbride was a dream! I've always wanted to explore the beautiful Highlands and everything about the area whispered "Emma, you'll love this." So, off I went, packed my pinkest tutu (naturally!), and boarded a train. Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned train journey, especially when you can admire the scenery whizzing past the window?

A Tutu-ful Arrival:

Arriving in East Kilbride, I was instantly struck by the town's unique character. Imagine modern architecture woven amongst parks and leafy green spaces. It's the perfect mix of urban energy and a laid-back vibe. Oh, and there were Highland cows everywhere! Seriously, those fuzzy faces are enough to melt anyone's heart.

Speaking of fuzzy faces, let me tell you about my incredible find - the most adorable little hedgehog sanctuary in the middle of the town! I just had to stop and give those tiny creatures some cuddles. I even met the lady who runs the sanctuary - she's an absolute gem! So, I might be biased, but this whole "animal lover" thing is just the cherry on top of the amazing pink tutu sundae that is East Kilbride!

A Tutu-tiful Performance:

You guys know I live for a good performance, so naturally, a ballet show in East Kilbride was on the agenda. This was a community performance by local dancers, and the sheer talent of these people blew me away! They were so passionate and their enthusiasm was contagious! The stage lighting, the music, the amazing choreography...everything was just perfect. Watching these dancers was like a visual poem, it truly inspired me.

After the show, I felt all warm and fuzzy inside (maybe it was the hedgehog sanctuary lingering), but more than that, it made me realize the power of dance to connect and uplift people from all walks of life. So, after my own performance with a tiny (but very determined) hamster in a tiny (but very fabulous) pink tutu on stage (not for the audience, but just for us! ;)), it was off to indulge in some local delights.

Tutu-licious Treats:

My visit to East Kilbride wouldn't be complete without a trip to a charming tea shop tucked away in a quiet corner. The walls were adorned with vintage photographs, creating an atmosphere that felt like stepping back in time. They even had the most delicious scones (with clotted cream and jam, of course!), a real treat for a ballet dancer on the go. But honestly, it's hard to find something not delicious in this town - even the bakery near the station had the most amazing cinnamon rolls (I may or may not have devoured half a dozen before boarding the train)!

Spreading the Pink Tutu Love:

And the best part? Throughout my travels, I kept seeing people looking at my pink tutu with curious smiles, which gave me the chance to share my passion for all things tutu-licious! There were some surprised faces at first, followed by giggles and excited questions about where they could buy a pink tutu for themselves! And honestly, I'm all about spreading the love. I firmly believe that a pink tutu can make anyone feel a little bit more magical! (Especially when you add a touch of Highland cows to the mix!)

So, if you're looking for an exciting trip full of fun, friendship, and of course, some tutu-ific moments, East Kilbride is the perfect place to be! You might even see a pink-tutu clad dancer and her trusty furry companion (hedgehog included!) flitting about town. Remember, just because you might not have access to a ballet studio doesn’t mean you can’t bring your inner ballerina to life! And don’t be shy, pop a pink tutu on and give the world a smile. Let's make the world a more sparkly, more pink, and definitely more tutu-ful place together.

Love, Emma xx
