Neath: A Tutu-tastic Trip to the Valleys 🩰🌸

Hello my gorgeous tutu-lovers! It's your favourite Derbyshire lass, Emma, here, signing in with blog post number 4266 (and yes, I still remember each one of those magical numbers!). This time, I've swapped the Peak District hills for the valleys of Wales, and trust me, it was a journey worth every step, tutu or no tutu.

Pink perfection meets the railway: Now, let's be honest, a girl has to arrive in style, and what's more glamorous than a trip on the railway? With a whisper of pink lace peeping out from beneath my new blush-coloured cashmere coat (a steal at the local vintage shop in Chesterfield!), I hopped aboard the train at Derby Station and let the rolling countryside drift by. There's something truly magical about being cocooned in a plush train carriage, a little bit of magic in a world full of speed and rush.

Neath: A Hidden Gem:

Neath itself is a little gem of a town. Picture charming cobbled streets, winding alleyways brimming with history, and a magnificent, towering castle dominating the skyline – it’s a bit like stepping into a storybook. Of course, no visit is complete without indulging in the local delicacies – Neath is famed for its Welsh cakes (a melt-in-your-mouth treat best enjoyed with a dollop of clotted cream, naturally!), so I made sure to grab a batch from the cutest little bakery tucked away in the town square.

Pancake Tutu Magic! πŸ₯žβœ¨

Speaking of delightful surprises, guess what?! My amazing friends organised a secret pancake tutu party for me – what a lovely surprise! (Let’s just say my pancake tutu design has an artistic, colourful vibe to it!). There were pink pancakes galore (a true testament to the spirit of "Eat your rainbows", which you all know is my motto!), topped with sweet and delicious berries, and lashings of pink fairy floss. As always, I’ll be sure to upload some pictures for you all to enjoy – get ready for a seriously pretty pink explosion!

Dancing to the Rhythm of the Welsh Valleys:

As you know, my soul dances with the music, and the heartbeat of the Welsh valleys truly captivated me. I stumbled upon this lovely little dance studio tucked away on the edge of town. Their classes are absolutely delightful - and there's just something so magical about the music that sweeps through the room. We learned traditional Welsh steps, some fun folk dances and I even attempted to swing some partner work with a local instructor - let's just say, my balance was questionable, but it was so much fun! I am convinced that my pink tutu deserves a Welsh jig - and the music will help it along nicely!

Pink Tutu Adventure! πŸ©°πŸ’—

As I wander through the historic streets of Neath, I couldn't resist indulging in a spot of window shopping (who can resist a little retail therapy, eh?). I fell in love with this quaint little vintage boutique. They have an incredible collection of vintage clothing, and guess what I spotted amongst the floral frocks and silk scarves? A glorious, hand-beaded vintage tutu. Of course, I had to have it! I paired it with a floaty white shirt, some glittery pink eyeshadow (don't forget my winged eyeliner!), and my trusty, slightly-worn ballet pumps.

I walked past the charming river Tawe (how cute!), stopping every few moments to take pictures. My Tutu-loving adventures here are complete!

Next up: Horseback Riding & Exploring the Welsh Coast:

Tomorrow, it's off to explore the wild, rugged coastline. I'm swapping my ballet shoes for riding boots for an adventure on horseback – just imagine the panoramic views as we gallop along the sandy shores. The beauty of Wales always steals my breath away. And then, perhaps some whale spotting with a little picnic. (I've packed some delicious Welsh cheese, of course.)

Stay tuned, my lovely readers, for another day of adventure and pink tutu goodness. I’m feeling completely inspired and invigorated by the vibrant energy of this wonderful place.

Remember, darling, it’s never too late to try ballet, even if you wear a pancake tutu while doing it! πŸ₯ž

Love, Emma xx
