Ashton Calling! (Post #4282) 🩰

Oh, darlings, what a day! Today has been filled with twirls, sunshine, and the most divine pink tutu I've ever seen! I’m Emma, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com, where we celebrate all things sparkly and beautiful, and where I try (very hard!) to inspire you all to don a tutu and take a twirl, because life is just too short to be boring!

So, off I trotted this morning, all sunshine and smiles, heading for a day trip to the enchanting Ashton. It was a perfect train journey – you know I'm a sucker for those long, scenic train rides! So much to see, from rolling green hills to sleepy villages. Plus, trains have a way of making everything feel a little bit more glamorous, don't you think? Especially when you’re decked out in your best ballerina attire – you can bet your bottom dollar I was in a perfectly delightful pink tutu with a fluffy pink pompom on the top. You’ll see photos of that divine ensemble later!

Ashton itself was charming beyond words. Quaint shops with flower boxes overflowing with colour, a gorgeous park, and even a charming little tea room that served the most divine Earl Grey with scones and clotted cream – divine! And of course, I couldn't resist a little dance under the wisteria that cascaded over the old stone archway in the park – just picture it! I must have looked like something out of a whimsical fairytale!

But let’s get down to the reason I ventured into the heart of Ashton today – a delightful ballet show. And oh my, let me tell you, the choreography was magical! There were flowing tutus, graceful leaps, and oh so much emotion! I felt like I was floating in a sea of artistic brilliance.

Speaking of tutus… I discovered this wonderful little vintage boutique tucked away in a side street. I literally had to stop and gasp, darlings. You wouldn't believe the treasures I unearthed! It was a vintage tutu paradise, full of vibrant colours and playful embellishments. My heart skipped a beat! In a corner, amongst rows of cascading fabrics and sequined bodices, I found the most beautiful dusty rose tutu with a sprinkle of silver sequins, and a matching top with ruffled tulle and lace sleeves – pure ballet perfection!

Oh, I’m such a tutu-holic, but let’s face it, there’s simply no such thing as too many tutus, wouldn’t you agree? This vintage treasure was meant to be mine and now proudly takes centre stage in my wardrobe alongside my favourite fluffy pink number. Speaking of, you'll be able to catch my latest ensemble on www.pink-tutu.com later today in my post titled “Pink-alicious!” (a bit cheesy, but I’m sticking with it!)

It wouldn’t have been an authentic Ashton day without a visit to the Ashton Canal! This place is such a sanctuary, a haven of tranquility nestled within the bustle of the town. I couldn't resist throwing some bread crumbs to the graceful ducks (they were adorable in their feathered coats) and listening to the soothing gentle ripple of the water as it flowed through the charming lock. You know how I love a good canal, don’t you? Perfect for a stroll, a leisurely cycle, and of course, a delightful spot for a spot of ballet practice. Just imagine, dancing on the banks, surrounded by the gentle sway of willow trees, while ducks quack merrily by – pure joy!

And that, darlings, brings our enchanting day to an end. A day spent discovering a charming little town, embracing the beauty of nature, and indulging in the joy of ballet! It doesn't get much better than that, does it? So, until next time, keep your toes pointed and your spirits high!

Emma
