Falkirk Fling: A Tutu-ful Adventure in the Scottish Highlands

Hello my darlings!

Emma here, writing to you live from the lovely Falkirk, a charming town nestled in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Can you believe it’s me, your favourite Derbyshire girl, all the way up here? I wouldn’t have it any other way, because today, I'm on a quest, and my trusty yellow tutu is by my side.

My love for the ballet is well documented - you know how much I adore a pirouette or two! And this week, I couldn’t resist a jaunt to Falkirk to experience the Falkirk Festival of Dance.

Getting here was an adventure in itself! I opted for the scenic train journey, feeling the gentle sway as the landscapes whizzed by. The green rolling hills of Scotland are just as picturesque as everyone says - and my yellow tutu was definitely turning heads on the platform!

Speaking of heads turning, did I tell you I’m experimenting with a brand new tutu collection? My latest masterpiece features the most beautiful shades of rose gold and blush pink - a nod to the Scottish heather and the stunning sunsets I've witnessed already. It’s utterly divine and makes my heart sing!

My day began with a Ballet Street performance that was positively thrilling. The dancers were so energetic, their movements like whispers of grace on the stage. It's just a pity I can't actually whisper with my huge, pink, frilly tutu, wouldn't that be an image?!

But here’s the thing: It was during the interval that I felt the magic of Falkirk truly ignite. I stumbled across a most charming cafe serving traditional Scottish shortbread and tea. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no stranger to a scone or two, but these shortbreads were simply exquisite! All buttery and crumbly, perfect with a cuppa - especially when worn with a matching pink tutu!

Feeling wonderfully refreshed and, I must confess, a tad full of tea and shortbread, I headed to the theatre for the main event: A ballet performance unlike anything I've ever seen! The dancers were all draped in emerald green tutus, mimicking the rolling hills and whispering forests surrounding Falkirk.

The story was captivating - I’m sworn to secrecy but let’s just say there was magic, dancing fairies and an absolutely breathtaking, twirling performance!

However, you know me, I couldn’t leave Falkirk without indulging in some serious wildlife spotting. And luckily, I didn’t have to travel far.

Tucked away within the charming streets, I discovered a secret garden where, amidst a riot of blooms, I spotted a fluffy rabbit! The most adorable creature, hopping around with his ears perked and fluffy white tail bobbing. We spent a delightful moment staring at each other, he munching on clover, me, mesmerised by his soft charm.

Of course, I shared my delicious Falkirk shortbread with the little guy (what’s a friend for, right?) - much to his delight, he nibbled the crumbs, while I watched, enthralled. He's so cute, I almost forgot my quest to make the world a pink tutu-wearing, ballet-dancing paradise!

Oh, before I forget - you can also get your very own pair of these super stylish pink tutu leggings, so your adventures can be extra glamorous. Go on, indulge your inner ballerina - we’re all fabulous!

Speaking of fabulous, have I told you about the stunning Highland sunsets I witnessed from my hotel window? A symphony of oranges, pinks, and purples - like a canvas painted by an artist’s brush. They just reinforced my conviction that life is simply better with a touch of pink - and tutus, of course!

My Falkirk adventure is drawing to a close, but this town will stay in my heart for its charm, its natural beauty, and its incredible dance spirit. As I hop aboard the train back to Derbyshire, I know one thing for sure: this adventure has fuelled my passion for life and all things pink.

So, tell me, what do you think, my darlings? Inspired to grab a tutu and head off on a ballet-themed adventure?

Until next time,

Emma xo
