Solihull Calling! Tutu Travels and German Delights (Post #4407)

Hello my lovelies!

It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend trip to Solihull! Honestly, I never thought I'd find myself falling in love with Solihull, but this little town charmed the tutu off me.

You know me, I always find a reason to get my dance on. This weekend was no exception, and I was thrilled to discover the Solihull School of Dance. A hidden gem, I tell you! It was all about elegant, graceful movements, and it really did take me right back to my earliest ballet lessons. That feeling of pure joy when you move your body beautifully – it’s truly intoxicating.

Speaking of intoxication, the highlight of the weekend was definitely my new tutu. Oh, you haven’t seen it?! Well, you need to see it – I’m talking pink tulle, absolutely cascading, like a fluffy, girly cloud! And you know me – anything pink makes me happy, and this little number just radiated happiness. Now, what made it even more special is it came from Germany!

You see, Solihull might not have been my final destination. No, this week was a whirlwind of ballet and adventure. The week before, I’d been in Berlin, dancing my heart out at the Berliner Staatsballett. It was exhilarating, seeing the grand scale, the masterful execution, the stories whispered through movement. There, I stumbled upon this exquisite pink tutu, hidden away in a charming little boutique. It was as if it were made for me, and my love for pink – I had to have it. So, it’s been following me on this little tour.

Speaking of tours, have I told you about the absolutely wonderful train journey I took from Derby? It’s amazing how peaceful and enjoyable train journeys can be – it’s such a brilliant way to truly unwind, admiring the rolling hills and quaint villages whizzing by. For a dancer, it’s like the perfect combination of nature’s beauty and stillness. I took a little sketchbook with me and jotted down some ideas, some choreography inspired by the flitting green fields and the clouds, fluffy and white, like my new German tutu.

I have to admit, the English countryside did leave me feeling inspired. The moment I stepped off the train in Solihull, I was charmed. There’s a delightful atmosphere, you know, calm yet bustling with life, like the gentle waves of a quiet beach.

We had a fantastic time exploring the town with my family. A stop for a little afternoon tea, naturally, followed by a walk around the lovely gardens. And did I mention my tutu got lots of compliments? Seriously, it drew smiles and excited exclamations, everyone asking me "Where did you get that fabulous tutu?!” You know it's good when your tutu starts a conversation!

You know, when you find yourself wandering through a new town, there's always that magical feeling of exploring hidden gems. A visit to the Solihull Art Gallery felt just like that – it was breathtaking! It’s not just about paintings, mind you, they’ve got some pretty incredible sculptures as well, perfect for sparking creativity in a dancer’s mind.

Of course, no trip to Solihull would be complete without exploring its local wildlife. There's a certain charm to watching squirrels chasing each other through the trees, or watching the graceful birds take flight in the serene lake at the park. You know I can't help but get a little bit inspired by these graceful creatures!

But before you picture me as a full-fledged countryside enthusiast, let’s be honest: my heart still beats for the bustling life of London’s West End. And guess what? My week ends with a thrilling visit to the Lyric Theatre to watch ‘Cats’! Can you believe it?! It's not every day you get to experience the captivating magic of the West End stage. And of course, I'll be sporting my stunning German tutu for the occasion! Because why wouldn't you wear something so fabulous when seeing a ballet?!

I just love how dancing connects me to everything around me: the tranquil beauty of nature, the elegance of art, and the electrifying power of theatre. I can't wait to see what the week brings and where my tutu adventures take me next!

So, keep an eye out, my lovelies, because you just never know where this pink tutu might show up! Don't forget to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com for even more updates!

Until next time, keep on dancing,

Emma xx
