Worcester, Oh Worcester! 🩰💖

Helloooo my lovely lot!

It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu advocate, and I'm just back from a whirlwind weekend in the delightful city of Worcester! It’s time to share my latest ballet adventure and whisper… maybe even spill the beans on my new little German tutu obsession. 🤫

You know how much I love my ballet. There's just something magical about the way it combines athleticism, art, and pure grace. But you see, I’m not just about classical ballet, although I’m deeply passionate about it – my soul truly vibrates for all forms. Street ballet, theatre performances, contemporary ballet… bring it on! The beauty is in the movement, the storytelling, the pure artistry.

This weekend was all about celebrating the versatility of dance and the incredible talent that exists in the UK. I'm on a mission to bring the joy of ballet to everyone. Yes, that includes you, dear reader. Can you imagine a world where we all embrace the joy of twirling, the power of a well-placed plié, and the pure happiness that comes with moving our bodies to a beautiful melody? Maybe not everyone needs to don a tutu (though we could definitely discuss it further!), but I firmly believe everyone should experience the transformative power of dance.

Let me rewind for a moment. My journey to Worcester started in a way I adore: a train journey. There’s something deeply romantic about gazing out the window at the passing countryside. I was curled up with my ballet journal, sketching out potential routines for the class I’m hosting at the Derbyshire ballet academy next month, when the glorious view caught my eye.

The landscape is so dramatic in the Peak District. Verdant green fields dotted with sheep and cows gave way to soaring hills cloaked in heather, all against a sky that was as vibrant a blue as my favourite tulle. In that moment, I realized how closely intertwined my love for ballet, travel, and nature truly is.

So, back to Worcester. I arrived to a charming city steeped in history. I instantly fell in love with the cobblestone streets and quaint shops tucked into charming corners. Of course, I found my way to the gorgeous Worcester Cathedral. Its impressive architecture was so inspiring - just imagine all the tales those walls could tell.

Now, you know how much I adore exploring. But my real passion in Worcester was at the city's ballet theatre. A magical evening with a talented young dancer, whose artistry just floored me. But it was even better than that, she was performing a piece that highlighted the fluidity of contemporary ballet. I just adore how dancers move with such expressive freedom, their bodies morphing into the music itself. And for this performance, she had chosen to wear a light pink, shimmering tutu – oh my, it was simply exquisite! It made me feel like I was part of the stage, part of the performance! And as I sat there, with my heart swelling with emotion and pure joy, I couldn’t help but wonder: how many amazing dancers are out there waiting to be discovered, hidden away in tiny towns and villages?

On a mission to explore, I headed out to a beautiful tea room on the edge of the city, and it was the most divine afternoon tea experience! We had fluffy scones with clotted cream (oh, I do adore that British tradition), perfectly brewed tea (they had a wonderful selection, and I even indulged in a cheeky peppermint one!), and sandwiches with fresh, crusty bread and fillings bursting with flavour. And yes, it would have been a serious breach of the Emma protocol to go to a tea room without a little something pink. My signature pink lipstick matched the pretty pink floral patterns of my afternoon tea dress – all those pretty pinks made my heart happy!

And then, as the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow across the city, I discovered a small local shop tucked away down a side street. Now, let’s talk tutus! And yes, my German tutu!

The shop was like a magical dream – it had rows upon rows of tutus! Oh, the joy of discovery! Tutus in every colour imaginable.

And then, I saw it. My little German gem!

Picture a traditional tutu but with a whimsical twist. Imagine the prettiest shades of pink, with a delicate floral pattern running along its edge. And then, as if to add an extra touch of magic, the centre was adorned with shimmering little beads that reflected the light, adding a touch of sparkle to each step. You see, the joy of discovering a tutu isn't about perfection, it’s about finding that perfect little detail that just makes your heart soar! This tutu just spoke to me – the feminine elegance, the hint of the traditional, with the little bit of sparkle, and yes, of course, the pink! It was the perfect souvenir to commemorate my lovely time in Worcester.

Worcester, you were truly a treat! From the charming cobbled streets, the awe-inspiring cathedral to the incredible ballet and the stunning city sights, it truly captivated my heart! And thanks to this wonderful city and the magic of that tiny shop, I have a new tutu to adore! And yes, that means you will be seeing it featured on www.pink-tutu.com! You know how I love to show off my tutu finds.

And now I’m off to find another hidden gem on the map. I can't wait to see where my next adventure takes me.
