Bangor: Pink Tutus & German Flair!

Post Number: 4499

Hey lovelies!

I'm back, back, back again! And guess what? I'm finally in Bangor. This amazing little city has been calling to me for ages, and now I'm finally here, ready to soak up the vibes and enjoy every last drop of magic!

I had the most fantastic train journey here - something about the rhythmic clicking of the wheels on the tracks just sets my creative juices flowing! I couldn't help but jot down ideas for my next blog post (whoops, sorry guys, you're reading it right now!). Anyway, after that long journey, Bangor welcomed me with open arms (and some rather impressive, imposing Victorian architecture - oh, I just adore those towering structures!).

Now, before I tell you about the incredible tutu shop I stumbled upon, I have to give you a teeny peek into my outfit. You know I always bring a touch of pink on my travels, and this time was no different. My dazzling pink polka dot dress, oh so effortlessly feminine and floaty, is the perfect complement to this city's charm. I even accessorised with a gorgeous, fluffy, baby pink feather boa - it just adds a touch of playful whimsy to the whole look! And, naturally, no look is complete without my trusty, shimmering pink ballet flats. They're a must-have, believe me. Ballet shoes anywhere, anytime!

And then came the main event – the tutu shop. Oh, the divine experience. I swear, I almost fainted when I saw the doorway, a whirlwind of pink ribbons and lace, all bathed in the softest golden light. I practically skipped through the door, my heart thrumming with excitement. You know, those old shops with those glorious creaky wooden floors? The kind you can imagine ballerinas twirling around on as the spotlight falls. Yeah, that. The shop, named "Tutus of the World," had every colour, shape and size of tutu imaginable! And the staff? So sweet, just like you'd imagine a group of elegant, twirling, pink-clad fairy godmothers! I couldn't resist! I fell head over heels in love with a stunning tutu in a softest pastel lilac. It's just… magical!

The lovely shop owner, Anna, told me that this particular tutu is German-made. They say their designs are particularly exquisite – made with the finest fabrics and lace, and there's just something special about the craftsmanship. The lilac really pops, a touch of lavender, I swear, and just imagine - sparkles - so many teeny, tiny sparkly details. I cannot wait to twirl in it!

After my tutu treasure hunt, I wandered through the city's vibrant streets, admiring the flower stalls bursting with blooms and the charming little cafes oozing with a cosy charm. You know, that feeling of home-baked pastries and soothing jazz music in the background. It was simply enchanting!

Later that afternoon, I popped into a ballet class at the charming "Ballet Dreams" studio. They had the most lovely selection of classes. Ballet? Of course. But, there was also an enticing contemporary ballet session and a class called "Ballet Street" that intrigued me, promising an hour of learning funky ballet steps to cool pop music. Oh, and there was another class on “Classical Ballerina Fitness”, which was great - some tough exercise that I actually managed to do without completely falling over.

I have to say, this ballet class was a little extra special. They have the most charming little foyer with beautiful, bright colours on the walls and large mirrors – I have to admit I spent quite some time admiring myself in them (what can I say? a dancer has to admire the reflection in the mirrors! ). It felt so warm and welcoming, with that special, familiar aroma of freshly-polished wood floors and… let’s be honest – a whiff of hairspray and a touch of slightly too much scent - so much like a proper theatre dressing room!

Of course, I did have to ask for a little mini performance, so we did some fancy twirls and dips. My teacher - a lovely, gentle woman with eyes full of mischief, she gave me such beautiful encouragement - said my balance was impeccable (she has been a ballet teacher for many years, she said - a veritable ballet icon!).

As the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the cityscape, I realised that Bangor is truly an extraordinary place. I just can't get enough of this place, this city filled with warmth, beauty, and a captivating energy.

Before I head back to Derbyshire, there's one more adventure on the cards - I heard about an amazing local theater show, a blend of ballet, mime and theatre. Can't wait! And, as always, you lovely lot can look forward to reading all about it tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Yours, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
