Caerphilly: A Tutu-ful Day Out (Post #4552)

Hello my gorgeous lovelies! Emma here, back from another adventure in the world of pink and tutus. Today's stop? The stunningly beautiful Caerphilly! Now, I'm a Derbyshire girl through and through, but even I have to admit, this Welsh town stole a little piece of my heart today.

It all started as I boarded the train in my favourite, twirly pink tutu. Don't worry, I picked one with a cute, understated fluffy pink tulle to make it train-friendly. My usual train ride is scenic enough with the rolling Derbyshire hills and the odd passing herd of sheep, but today it was all rolling hills and ancient castles.

Castles and Ballet?

Caerphilly Castle was breathtaking! You know I love history and heritage, and this castle, with its looming stone walls and dramatic moat, is like stepping right back into a storybook. I took some beautiful pics โ€“ you can find them on my Instagram, of course, if you follow @EmmaTutuLove!

Speaking of fairytale castles, what's more magical than ballet? Well, I thought perhaps ballet in a castle! I tried searching for ballet classes, maybe even some sort of 'Castle Ballet Experience', but no luck! But fear not, my darling readers, I had a backup plan: a lovely pink picnic on the castle grounds. I brought my favourite, strawberry-cream scones (thank you, Bake Off for the inspiration!) and the best part was watching a group of young kids practicing their dance moves by the moat. So sweet! Just goes to show you that dance inspiration can be found everywhere, even on the banks of an ancient castle.

Welsh Wildlife

My afternoon was dedicated to exploring Caerphilly's cute shops and indulging in a pink latte (because obviously!) at a sweet little cafe called 'The Lavender Cupboard.' Afterwards, I ventured a little further afield to explore some of the local nature reserves. Being surrounded by beautiful wildflowers, trees, and chirping birds, really put me in the mood for an evening of elegant dance.

A Pink Ballet Treat

Of course, no trip to Caerphilly could end without a visit to the beautiful local theatre. It's called 'The Coliseum', a name that immediately made me think of opulent ballet stages and stunningly elegant dancers.

The show? Well, I was lucky! They were doing a production of "Sleeping Beauty", one of my favourite ballets. It was absolutely stunning, from the beautiful costumes to the soaring melodies and the incredible athleticism of the dancers. It even had a cute scene with fairies! And it made me long for the moment I could don my own sparkly tutus and grace a stage like theirs.

Pink Tutu Thoughts

Walking home from the theatre, Caerphilly's vibrant city lights twinkling in the night sky, I reflected on the day. It was so much more than just a quick visit. It was an experience filled with beautiful architecture, the gentle sound of nature, and the enchanting power of dance. It also reminded me of why I love doing this blog - it's not just about sharing my love for pink tutus and ballet. It's about finding beauty and magic in everyday experiences and spreading that joy to everyone I meet.

And you know what? Caerphilly was full of that joy! So next time you find yourself planning a trip to Wales, do yourself a favour: step out of the train, into a world of tutus, history and the vibrant energy of a town that is waiting to be discovered. Who knows, maybe you'll even find a pink latte with your name on it!

Until next time, lovelies.

Keep twirling and dancing!
