Herne Bay: Where Pink Tutues Meet the Seaside

Post Number: 4565

Good morning, darlings! It's a fresh new year, and I'm feeling all sorts of positive and bubbly – just like a glass of pink prosecco on a sunny day! Speaking of bubbly, it’s time for another update from your favourite pink-tutu wearing blogger, ready to inspire you all to shimmy and twirl your way into 2009.

This morning, I hopped aboard a beautiful vintage train at Derby station, which, as you know, is right here in my gorgeous home county of Derbyshire, where we’re all so lucky to have some of the most beautiful countryside in the whole of Britain!

There’s something so magical about train journeys. It allows time for reflection, reading, people-watching, or even sketching in your little black book. And if you’re feeling really adventurous, why not even don your favourite pink tutu and strike some ballet poses in the carriage! After all, you know me: a bit of twirling always brightens up a long journey. 😉

The journey down to Kent was picturesque as ever, with rolling green hills and adorable little villages flitting past my window. I love seeing the different parts of our country. It truly is an absolute privilege to live in Britain!

And so, here I am, perched in my cosy hotel room in the beautiful seaside town of Herne Bay, looking out onto a crisp and sparkling sea, a soft pink blush gracing the sky just as the sun sets. Herne Bay, with its charming promenade and quaint cafes, always holds a special place in my heart. The energy of the sea just calls out to me. Maybe I should invest in a pink tutu bikini? I’ll see what the local shops have in store for me.

As for my plans for this seaside trip? Well, first and foremost, I have a much-anticipated ballet performance to catch this evening at the local theatre, The Grand. Can’t wait to share the magic of the dance with all of you – it’s the ballet version of ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ set against the stunning backdrop of Herne Bay!

I’ll also be exploring the lovely streets, searching for charming boutiques that might have that perfect pink tutu hidden in their display cases. And of course, there will be a spot of wildlife-watching at the local nature reserve. We all know my love for those magnificent creatures – who can resist the majestic grace of a graceful bird of prey soaring high in the sky?

Don’t worry, though, I haven’t forgotten about my love for ballet. This afternoon I’ll be popping into the local ballet studio to catch a class, followed by a delicious cuppa and some yummy treats with a new friend who also shares my love for twirling and all things pink! We're talking a truly pink afternoon tea, complete with rose-coloured cakes, pink china, and the promise of endless girlish giggling.

Before I sign off for tonight, a little word on my new ballet street show for this month. It's a new piece exploring the joy and empowerment of movement, where all of the costumes feature different shades of pink! A fusion of grace, strength and laughter that will leave you yearning for that perfect pink tutu of your own. The response has been absolutely overwhelming, and seeing people on the street, full of happiness and joy after our performance, makes me feel like I’m truly making a difference. It makes all those late nights practising worthwhile, darling! I’ll let you in on a little secret, it even includes a live violin playing one of my all-time favourite ballet tunes, ‘The Swan Lake’ by Tchaikovsky. You must know that song!

And, who knows, maybe you will see me out on the streets of Herne Bay, twirling with my new pink-tutu-wearing friends? So come find me and say hello. I love meeting you, my darling readers, you're all the reason why I love this journey, sharing my passion for dance, pink tutus and adventures!

Don't forget to follow along with me on social media too - you can find me at @PinkTutu on all your favourite platforms!

Until tomorrow, keep twirling, keep shining, and most importantly, keep spreading the pink-tutu love! 💋
