Huyton Calling! Pink Tutu Power

Post 4593 - www.pink-tutu.com

Hello my beautiful ballet bunnies! 🩰

It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, back from a whirlwind trip to Huyton. And guess what? It's totally transformed my perspective on the world - because Huyton is an absolute gem! (Who knew?!)

Now, before I go on about how fabulous it is, let me confess something: my usual mode of transport is a rather elegant steed (we're talking a thoroughbred, darlings!). But for this adventure, I chose the more practical – and no less glamorous – option: the train! A fabulous journey it was too, gliding through the countryside like a tutu twirling through the air. It’s like taking a mini-holiday just to get there, all the way from Derbyshire!

I've been obsessed with all things pink, ballet, and, well, everything pink, for as long as I can remember. I'm here to spread the joy of ballet to the world. I want everyone to have that twirling, pirouette-ing feeling in their heart. That’s why my motto is ‘Let's paint the world pink and twirl like no one is watching!’. (Unless someone is, of course - a standing ovation is always appreciated, am I right? 😂).

Now, about this magical place called Huyton. Honestly, it stole my heart in a most delightful way. Huyton is one of those places you can just get lost in, a town brimming with hidden nooks and corners. Oh, and those streets, my dears – such beautiful streets, full of character and hidden alleys. Just perfect for twirling my fabulous tutu through, of course!

First on my list was the grand Huyton House - just look at the majestic front entrance, it almost demands a dramatic pirouette right on the steps! Sadly, I was too late to grab a last minute ticket for a ballet show, but I snuck into the foyer and the hallway where a tour was going on. Just soaking up the air and the grandeur – the perfect pre-show warm-up!

It's true that you can find a ballet school practically everywhere you go nowadays. But you know, there’s something really special about exploring an old building that has actually witnessed the thrill of dancers on stage – so full of history and a touch of elegance. I'd happily take ballet classes in that hallway! (If only the curator let me, that is!)

Speaking of elegance, one of the best bits about Huyton was its wildlife. From majestic red kites circling high above (imagine a ballerina in the air!), to the sweetest squirrels flitting between branches (they're like mini-ballet dancers, but furry!), it's just so heartwarming to watch the little things.

I don't know about you guys, but wildlife totally calms me down and lets me channel the energy I need for a perfect pirouette! (My ballerina life demands these things! I know what you're thinking - and you're right! ).

After spending the morning at Huyton House, I decided it was time for something that might just give the "swan lake" feeling to Huyton. My mission? A visit to Huyton Quarry. I must admit, this quarry was a little more rough around the edges than I usually encounter, but honestly, it was pretty charming! This wasn't a refined ballerina space, but an absolutely spectacular space in its own way. It’s certainly given me a lot to think about in my tutu designs. I could imagine some amazing dance performances right here - but it might be too rough for delicate fabrics, so a stronger fabric may be required. (The ballet world needs some more tough but chic clothing, right?)

I wandered about, captivated by the sheer size of it. The sheer drop is enough to get your heart racing - you’d better be careful if you take my suggestion to twirl at the edge!

Later that afternoon, it was time for some more human interactions – in a slightly more… theatrical, dramatic, but definitely less dramatic way than ‘Swan Lake’ or a dramatic ballet performance on a stage. And by dramatic, I’m talking my 'oh-so-chic-ballet' kind of drama of course - you know, elegant! I'd heard about a charming little tearoom right on Huyton’s bustling market street called 'The Pink Cupcake.'

Now, the owner's dedication to the colour pink almost makes me feel like I’m on set for a ballet, but a ballet that’s in a charming village tea room with beautiful cakes and floral decorations!

The aroma hit me right when I stepped inside: it was heaven! Just like stepping into the world of my most creative ballerina daydreams. It's impossible not to feel glamorous surrounded by all that pink and girly sweetness. Even if it’s not actually ‘en pointe’ with the grand theatre feeling, it’s pretty darn romantic for an afternoon!

I ordered the pinkest iced cupcake, naturally, and devoured it with the same elegance I'd brought to a performance of the ‘Nutcracker’! It's safe to say the sugar rush left me buzzing, ready for the final act of my Huyton adventure.

Before heading back to Derbyshire, I wandered around the little streets, marveling at the friendly local shops and enjoying the peaceful vibe. Huyton is definitely one of those places that leaves a warm feeling in your heart, a bit like the feeling you get at a perfectly executed ballet show.

The journey back to my countryside manor was quite magical. I felt truly inspired by the day's adventures. My creative juices were flowing – I was so brimming with ideas, you would have thought my tutu would be bouncing on the seat because I was just so giddy! I was full of ideas! Huyton really inspired me - especially for my newest tutu creation! I can’t reveal the secrets just yet, but you’ll love the style, especially when I wear it on stage next time I do a show, I can just tell!

One thing I learned on this fantastic trip is that you don't have to be in a grand ballroom to feel like you're in a balletic ballet dream. All you need is a heart open to adventure, a bit of pink (of course!), a dash of ballet love, and you're ready to create your own magic wherever you are! Just take a deep breath, find your inner tutu and remember ... we’re all ballerinas, darling. 🩰

So, next time you're thinking of a quick trip – somewhere unexpected - and full of little joys, remember the magic of Huyton!

And, as always, keep your head held high, keep your tutus flowing, and twirl like the wind, my beautiful dancers!

Love and twirls,

Emma 💖🩰
