Kendal Calling: Purple Tutu in the Lake District!

Oh, my darlings! It's Emma here, bringing you another slice of my pink and twirly life from the stunning Lake District!

Today, I traded my usual pink tutu for a bold, vibrant purple one. It felt fitting for a day spent exploring the beautiful countryside of Cumbria, with its emerald hills and crystal clear lakes. My inner ballerina couldn't resist taking a few pirouettes amongst the daffodils, and it felt absolutely divine!

My journey here was a real fairytale. I swapped my usual train journey for a gloriously scenic horseback ride - the fresh air, the breathtaking views, the gentle rhythmic canter...pure magic! As we rode through quaint villages, with their charming stone cottages and bustling markets, I felt like I'd stepped straight out of a Jane Austen novel.

My afternoon in Kendal was filled with the magic of the Lake District. I strolled along the banks of the River Kent, marvelled at the ancient ruins of Kendal Castle, and indulged in a proper afternoon tea with a generous helping of cream scones! The locals were so welcoming, I almost forgot I was on a solo trip.

Then came the moment I had been waiting for...the "Kendal Calling" festival. It felt absolutely wild! This incredible music festival brought the entire town to life with an array of music stages, delicious food stalls, and, of course, my favourite โ€“ a giant purple tutu in the heart of it all. It was as if my own sartorial choice had been reflected back in an awe-inspiring display of purple beauty! I may not have won any talent contests this year, but watching all the dancers and musicians express their artistic passion was simply magical.

It was then that I felt the true power of tutu magic โ€“ the universal language of joy and freedom. People of all ages were swaying and twirling to the music, united in a shared sense of love for art and life.

While we're on the subject of love, I spotted a couple sharing a tender kiss beneath the dancing fairy lights โ€“ a perfect picture of romance. Maybe next time Iโ€™ll bring a handsome ballerino along for the trip. Iโ€™m sure we'd turn a few heads at the festival, and maybe even encourage a few more fellas to give ballet a go.

Back in Derbyshire, my usual dance routine involves plenty of ballet barre work and graceful leaps at the local studio, but nothing could compare to the unbridled joy of dancing barefoot in a field, under the bright Lake District sky.

I have a feeling this isn't the last you've seen of my purple tutu! There are still so many exciting places in the UK I need to visit, so many magical dances I need to learn! And, of course, so many more pink tutus I need to wear!

My dear friends, please keep checking in with me on www.pink-tutu.com. I will keep sharing my adventures in style and twirling to new heights of inspiration! And don't forget โ€“ my mission is to inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu and try ballet! Together, we can make the world a more beautiful, expressive, and fabulous place!

Much love,

Emma xx
