Rhyl Ramblings: Pink Tutu Travels - Post 4640

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, back with another pink-tastic blog post! I've just returned from a lovely weekend trip to Rhyl, nestled on the coast of North Wales, a stone's throw from the iconic Prestatyn.

Now, Rhyl isn't exactly known for its tutus, but I always manage to inject a little bit of pink into my travels, don't I? This time, it was a European-style tutu, a soft ballet pink tulle with a whimsical swirl of blush ribbon at the waist, paired with a cream crochet cardigan and a cute little pink hat, naturally.

But let's get back to Rhyl. This coastal town is a perfect destination for a mini getaway! It boasts a glorious sandy beach, charming seaside promenades, and plenty of fun seaside amusements. You could spend a week there and never be bored, which of course means I could also spend a week whizzing around in tutu! (Don't worry, my Mum made me wear sensible shorts under the tulle, though. There were a lot of kids about on the beach!)

I made the journey by train - a journey that, to my utter delight, started just an hour away from my Derbyshire home, making it an effortless and eco-friendly travel option. It was absolutely lovely to gaze out of the window and soak in the rolling hills and patchwork fields of rural England. My ears were filled with the gentle clickety-clack of the train tracks and a few familiar tunes, belted out by my perfectly pink iPod.

Upon arrival, the salty air hit me with a blast of energy, invigorating and exciting, much like a good ballet warm up. I'm sure you understand! The beach itself was like a canvas, stretches upon stretches of soft, golden sand. I found the perfect spot, kicked off my shoes and let my toes wiggle around.

With my tutu trailing behind me like a fluttering ribbon, I was ready to explore! Rhyl doesn't exactly boast a tutu-wearing community, which is a little sad (I'd have to give a few lessons on the beauty of twirling around in pink tulle, if you catch my drift), but it does have a beautiful seafront, with vintage arcades, candy stores, a miniature golf course, a boating lake, and a promenade full of delightful seaside pubs, where I indulged in a proper chippy tea with mushy peas, of course. (There is no way I could leave out a bit of classic British food!.)

I even stumbled across a beautiful nature reserve - Rhyl Wildlife Park! They had a great selection of wildlife from all around the world (but obviously, the most exciting for me were the penguins!). Seeing the way they waddled on their flippers made me think of ballerinas! Graceful, poised, a little bit wobbly on their feet. Just like me sometimes, after a particularly intense pliΓ© sequence, haha!

Anyway, my weekend in Rhyl was just delightful. From exploring the charming town to taking a stroll along the coastline and discovering Rhyl Wildlife Park, it had the perfect mix of adventure, history, and a touch of seaside charm. Of course, my tutu was a perfect companion for the entire journey, a bright splash of colour against the blue skies, the sparkling beach, and the gorgeous landscape.

I must admit, my time there really inspired me to go back, perhaps take a couple of dance classes and share some tutu-love with the local community! There's just something special about Rhyl that leaves you wanting to twirl just a little longer.

But, don't worry, you don't have to go all the way to Rhyl to experience a tutu-filled adventure! Just look around. That dusty ballerina costume in the attic, the old tulle curtain that no one cares about, just a simple pink ribbon - these all can become a tutu, and every day can become an opportunity to let the magic of ballet seep into your life!

What do you say, dear readers, are you ready to twirl into the pink side of life?

I'll leave you with this: Life is too short for plain tutus!

Lots of love,

Emma
