Let's rewind the clock to yesterday. I was shimmying my way through my morning ballet class in Derby, feeling the usual blend of pre-performance nerves and thrilling anticipation. But today was different. Today, my darling Tutu Blog was heading for the Kent coastline. A hop on the train and a journey through some of England’s most beautiful countryside later, I found myself in a delightful little town.
Stepping off the train into the salty air, I could practically hear the whispers of seaside adventures in the wind! My new pink tutu – a delicate shade of baby pink with delicate rosebud embroidery - swirled with the wind as I caught the scent of salt, fish and chips, and most importantly… the sweet melody of a distant ice cream van! Oh, how I do love a bit of the coast!
Broadstairs: A Wonderland for a Pink Tutu Princess
The seaside air immediately ignited a new wave of pink tutu inspiration. Imagine, dear readers, a stunning coastal view, painted with turquoise sea, bright blue sky, and a glorious backdrop of white chalk cliffs. And what better to complete this pastel paradise than a sprinkle of... you guessed it! Pink tutus!
I could practically hear the graceful whispers of ballerinas frolicking in the sand and on the promenade. So, with the thrill of the sea air in my lungs and a twinkle in my eye, I set off on a mission. My aim: to spread the pink tutu love far and wide!
The shops in Broadstairs were a delight - an array of charming independent stores overflowing with handmade delights. The quaint boutiques held secrets of sea-glass jewellery, artisan fudge, and of course, beautiful souvenirs to remind me of this lovely seaside escape! The pastel-colored houses, lined up with picturesque fishing boats, felt straight out of a charming fairy tale.
Tutu Time by the Sea
Now, no seaside trip is complete without a delightful promenade, so I twirled my way along the path with the sea breeze caressing my pink tutu, it was truly magical! Seagulls shrieked above, children squealed with laughter on the beach, and I felt myself truly become part of the joyful atmosphere.
A gelato stop was in order, and oh my! Imagine my delight when I found a cafe with pink and white stripes and a little gelato stand offering flavours inspired by the local flora! Lavender and honey, oh, so dreamy!
The highlight of the day? The unexpected sighting of a troupe of dancers in the square! Dressed in vibrant pink tutus - the shade was just slightly different from mine but still so flattering against the warm beach backdrop! We were like a flock of elegant, dancing flamingoes. The shared look of joy, the giggles as we perfected a synchronized "à la seconde" and the whispers of admiration as passersby stopped to watch were magical.
I felt like a little princess at a fairytale ball, twirling beneath the clear blue sky and reveling in the moment. Oh, how I do adore ballet street!

As the sun began its golden descent, casting an ethereal glow over the sea, I took a deep breath of that refreshing sea air and took stock of the day.
