Blackpool, oh Blackpool! 🩰✨💖

Helloooo lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, here! 🎀 Today's adventures take us to the glorious seaside town of Blackpool. This little trip has been bubbling away in my head for weeks, ever since my darling friend Millie mentioned her grandma’s fantastic collection of antique lace trims, which, wouldn’t you know it, are perfect for adding a touch of vintage glamour to a brand new tutu. 🤫 A quick train journey later, and I’m arriving at the seaside with a twinkle in my eye and a giant grin on my face. 💖

Speaking of twinkles, Blackpool’s lights truly are something special, don’t you think? Every dazzling light reflects off the sparkling waves and makes the whole place feel like a giant fairyland. As a ballerina, I must admit I’m utterly enchanted by the whole sparkly aesthetic. ✨

First on the agenda? A hearty dose of fish and chips from that delightful little chippie on the promenade. There's just something about the salty sea air that makes a fish and chip supper taste a thousand times better, right? And as usual, I couldn't resist ordering an extra portion of chips, just to make sure there's enough to share with the seagulls. They are quite the delightful characters, those seagulls, always ready for a quick bite and a bit of a flap.

Now, let’s talk tutus! Blackpool is the perfect place to experiment with different tutu styles. A bit of seaside breeze certainly adds a little drama to every twirl. And the sunshine, well, let’s just say it makes every tutu shine. ☀️ Today, I opted for a light and airy pink tulle tutu. I added a sprinkle of sparkle using my mum’s old costume beads, giving the whole ensemble a touch of Blackpool sparkle. 💕 I swear, it made my heart skip a beat, and my fellow tutu enthusiasts on the promenade seemed to love it too! We even ended up in a little spontaneous twirling competition, which is something I'll definitely cherish in my memories.

Of course, no trip to Blackpool would be complete without a trip to the Tower Ballroom. My darling Gran always used to take me when I was a little girl. I remember watching all those amazing dancers twirling with effortless grace under those magnificent chandeliers. 💖 Sadly, I was too late for the afternoon tea dance (I must be quicker next time!), but a quick peek into the grand ballroom was enough to make my heart sing. I couldn't help but think, "Now that's a room you could build a ballet in." 🩰

After a few hours soaking up the magic of Blackpool, it was time for a leisurely stroll along the promenade. The gentle breeze seemed to be conducting my thoughts as I went for my customary walk. I thought about my fellow ballerinas back in Derbyshire, about all the little girls who dream of twirling, and of all the beautiful souls who bring the dance to life. 💕 I also caught a glimpse of a flock of seagulls swooping and soaring against the setting sun - reminding me of all the beauty and magic found in nature, even on the bustling coast of Blackpool.

One of the things that truly makes Blackpool special is the sense of community and connection that can be felt in the air. You meet so many lovely people, and you just can’t help but get caught up in the fun! Whether you're a seasoned performer, a beginner ballerino, or simply someone who wants to feel the joy of twirling, Blackpool welcomes everyone with open arms. 💖

As the sun sets, casting long shadows across the seafront, I start to feel a little bit sad to say goodbye to this special place. But I leave with a heart full of happiness, a tutu overflowing with sparkling memories, and a newfound love for this seaside town.

I can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds. Until then, keep twirling! Emma xx
