Hello lovelies! 💖 Emma here, bringing you post number 4726 from the sunny shores of Weston-super-Mare. It's been a day filled with frothy milkshakes, sugary donuts, and of course, tutus! I’ve decided that seaside towns are absolutely the best place for a tutu-tastic adventure.
This week has been all about a little R&R (with a touch of R-for-rehearsals, of course). I've been perfecting a new piece for my upcoming performance in Buxton (more about that in a future post!). However, my inner girly-girl needed a dose of seaside sunshine, so I hopped on a train this morning (always my preferred mode of transport for a scenic adventure).
Speaking of hopping… my outfit for today was quite a vision! I opted for a delicate pastel pink tutu, crafted with soft layers of tulle, and paired it with a simple white blouse for a touch of elegance. To add a bit of coastal chic, I threw on a floppy straw hat and a charming pink floral bag (because you can never have too much pink!). My trusty trainers (they are so comfy!) completed the look.
I have to tell you, a tutu at the seaside really turns heads! The children (who, in my opinion, are the best judges of good style), absolutely adored it! A little girl in a beautiful red dress even gave me the biggest smile and shouted, "You're a real princess!" My heart melted. I just love how a tutu instantly brings a bit of magic to any occasion! 💖
But what’s a seaside adventure without some delicious treats? 🧁 My first stop was the cutest little ice cream shop. I couldn’t resist the "Strawberry Dream" milkshake, overflowing with whipped cream, a gigantic cherry, and sprinkles. Mmm, pure indulgence! Next up, a doughnut stall with all kinds of fancy fillings – I went for the salted caramel one, which was so incredibly delicious, I nearly ordered another. 😉
My sweet treats fueled my afternoon stroll along the promenade. The wind blew through my hair, the salty air filled my lungs, and the crashing waves were the perfect background music to my day. Honestly, it was simply perfect. 🌊
Later in the afternoon, I went to see a wonderful street performance. A group of talented dancers had set up shop on the pier. I was utterly captivated by their athleticism and the story they were telling through movement. It reminded me just how much I love ballet and all its different forms! It's definitely not all frilly tutus, you know! 😂
Now, my little seaside trip wouldn't have been complete without a spot of wildlife spotting. My heart fluttered when I saw a tiny robin perched on a pier post, just as unafraid as can be. 🐦 I took some photos (always remembering to keep a safe distance, of course). They just seem to know when you're going to snap their photo and hold their pose!
As I watched the sun sink beneath the horizon, painting the sky in glorious hues of orange and purple, I couldn’t help but feel content. It had been such a wonderful, simple, and very pink day. The perfect antidote to my busy rehearsal schedule!
