Crewe Calling! - Pink Tutu Post #4732

Hello lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, Emma, back with another post from the road. This time, I'm venturing into the heart of Cheshire, the wonderfully industrial town of Crewe. It's not your typical glamorous ballet destination, but trust me, this trip has been full of delightful surprises!

Now, you all know I'm a sucker for a good old-fashioned train journey. The clackety-clack of the tracks, the hushed whispers in the carriage, the scent of tea and biscuits – pure bliss. It's even better when the carriage window frames the most stunning countryside scenery. As I sped through Derbyshire, the rolling green hills seemed to melt into the hazy horizon. It felt as if I was travelling into a fairytale, one that was soon to become even more enchanting!

A Touch of American Style in Crewe

Today's outfit was all about a playful twist on the classic tutu. Forget your traditional, single-layered tulle – I've got my eye on a fabulous American style, tiered, frilly tutu! It's pink, of course. What else? This little beauty is made of layers upon layers of the softest, most beautiful tulle imaginable, just begging to be twirled in. I paired it with a delicate, pale pink silk blouse – just a hint of vintage glam, perfect for the railway platform chic – and some chunky patent leather flats with a bow.

The locals looked on with amused smiles, as I balanced my luggage and my carefully constructed tutu package – you never want to risk your precious twirling outfit! My little twirl as I entered the station platform did turn a few heads. It’s my mission to spread the pink tutu love, you see!

Adventures in Cheshire

My arrival in Crewe coincided with the opening of a beautiful new independent boutique, the perfect spot for me to find an irresistible vintage Brooch to complement my twirling outfit. This brooch is a sparkling gold and pearl design with a delicate butterfly attached that sits on the pink tulle, it's like a shimmering touch of magic. The shop assistant gave me a look of pure appreciation for my pink tutu – I felt like I was a queen visiting the Court of Twirling, but Crewe has a totally different vibe, the beauty of its past, industrial, grand, and historic.

Of course, no trip is complete without a bit of culture. I snuck into a delightful little local ballet school, which welcomes anyone and everyone – from serious dancers to those just looking to get in touch with their inner ballerina – all are very welcome. There was a feeling of unity in the studio – they even had their own pink tutu wall for group photos – I was delighted to take a photo and put myself in front of that!

Pink Tutu Inspiration Everywhere

My adventures weren't all about tutu-ing and dancing. I discovered a quaint little cafe nestled on a cobblestone street. The smell of fresh baked cakes and rich coffee lured me inside. As I enjoyed my tea and chocolate cake (all the sugar, you see! It is important to replenish your energy when you are doing all that dancing ), I noticed the owner wearing a beautiful pale pink dress – it sparkled and swirled around her as she served me! Pink tutu inspirations just keep popping up, it makes my heart dance!

Crewe is more than meets the eye, I tell you. It has a unique, industrial charm with its historical train lines and grand Victorian buildings. But, beneath the surface, you discover a wealth of cultural gems. It is truly a place where I feel my passion for pink, tutu and ballet thriving !

My journey isn't over, though, as I head to the enchanting Shropshire in the morning – the perfect place to exchange the train for a horse, as I explore more of England's wonders.

Stay tuned, lovelies!

Your Tutu Travelling Blogger,

Emma xxx
