Post #4734: Rugby with a German Tutu!

Hello darlings! It's your girl, Emma, back again with another dose of pink tutu magic. This time, we're venturing a little further afield than usual โ€“ all the way to rugby-mad Rugby, England!

Now, you might be thinking, Emma, what on earth are you doing in Rugby? Surely a ballerina should be on the other side of the stage, not in the stands at a rugby match?

Well, my dear readers, I'm not here to watch a match, per se. I'm here for something much more thrilling โ€“ a tutu-clad adventure in a town where, as they say, they invented the game!

Let me backtrack a little bit and tell you about my recent ballet travels. I've been absolutely obsessed with finding vintage ballet shoes, you know, the kind with the ribbons you tie yourself. I've been hunting high and low, and last week I found a truly magical find in a tiny shop nestled amongst cobblestone streets in a quaint town called Harrogate.

It wasn't just any vintage shoe, though, no. It was a pair of sparkly, blush-pink ballet shoes from the 1930s! They fit my little toes like a dream and even had the sweetest little bows on the straps. They practically danced out of the shop and onto my feet!

Anyway, after a triumphant victory dance back home, I knew I had to break in my new babies. So, I packed my vintage find, my most glamorous pink tutu, a floral head scarf (perfect for a country vibe) and set off to Rugby by train. It was so delightful, whizzing through the countryside โ€“ it felt like being a part of a fairytale.

Upon arriving, I felt the true energy of the rugby-loving city, the kind of enthusiasm that makes you want to throw on a jersey, grab a pint, and roar with the crowd. Except, I decided to stay true to my tutu-wearing self, which really did stand out in the crowd of jerseys and caps! But let me tell you, I was turning heads โ€“ it wasn't every day you saw a ballerina strutting her stuff in Rugby, especially in such a whimsical outfit.

Now, this trip wasn't just about embracing the rugby culture. It was about discovering how ballet intersects with unexpected worlds, like the rough and tumble world of rugby. Believe me, ballet doesn't have to be confined to the stage or a studio, it can bloom in all kinds of creative ways. It was about seeing ballet with a fresh pair of eyes, taking in the vibrancy and energy of a new place and showcasing that elegance and beauty can exist even in the midst of something like rugby.

But my Rugby adventure was far from just a tutu and a match! There was, of course, the most spectacular pink cake in the whole town! It was like stepping straight into a fairytale. My dear friend, who lives in the town, had recommended a lovely little cafe where the cakes were as delicate as tulle and just as delicious as the best strawberry shortcake.

It's all about exploring the beauty in everything, isn't it? Even if that means taking your love for ballet to a town known for rugby, indulging in a slice of pink cake, and experiencing the local culture in your most glamorous pink tutu!

Speaking of exploring, you won't believe who I met! A sweet little hedgehog, no bigger than my ballet slipper, darting across a patch of grass near the town center! Now, I'm a sucker for anything cute and cuddly. After giving the little guy a sprinkle of my delicious strawberry cake crumbs (don't worry, I checked if it was safe first!) I knew I had to write about it.

This whole experience has inspired me to keep discovering hidden gems, to continue looking at the world through my pink-tinted, tutu-tastic spectacles!

What about you, lovelies? Tell me, what's your dream ballet-inspired adventure? Let's keep those tutus spinning, and remember, no matter where life takes you, embrace it with the grace and poise of a ballerina!

Until next time, darlings,

Stay Pink and Keep Dancing!

Love, Emma xx www.pink-tutu.com
