Finchley Fancy: A Tutu Adventure!

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend in Finchley, a delightful little spot north of London. And oh, the adventures I had!

As always, I kicked things off with a vibrant pink tutu (it was a peachy hue this time, perfectly matching my mood). Why a tutu in Finchley, you ask? Because why not?! A little touch of sparkle and feminine flair can transform any ordinary day into an extraordinary one. It's all about embracing that inner ballerina, my dears, and expressing yourself with a little bit of whimsy.

Ballet, Beauty and Boroughs

The first stop on my Finchley escapade was a quaint little theatre nestled in the heart of the borough. A matinee performance of "Swan Lake" was the perfect way to begin the day. I simply adore Tchaikovsky's music, and watching those graceful swans pirouette and glide across the stage, well, it takes my breath away.

My heart also melted when I saw a group of tiny dancers from a local dance school take to the stage before the main show. Seeing those little ballerinas twirl and leap with such passion reminded me why I fell in love with ballet all those years ago. There's something so magical and enchanting about this art form, isn't there?

Tea Time Triumphs

After the show, I indulged in a lovely afternoon tea at a delightful vintage tea room called "The Rose Garden". Oh, my goodness! It was a visual feast for the eyes, with delicate finger sandwiches, perfectly baked scones and a mountain of colourful macaroons, all presented beautifully on tiered cake stands. The tea itself was exquisite, served in fine bone china cups adorned with dainty roses. It was the kind of afternoon tea that could make even the Queen herself raise a dainty eyebrow in approval!

A Horse and a Tutu? A Match Made in Heaven!

I confess, I have a little secret. I'm secretly in love with horses. So, after a very satisfying tea, I embarked on a delightful adventure. I decided to try horse riding in nearby Trent Park. The thrill of being on the back of such a majestic creature is simply exhilarating! And yes, I was sporting my pink tutu!

Imagine the scene, if you will. A bright pink tutu against the lush green backdrop of Trent Park. I'm telling you, it was the perfect touch of girly magic amidst the majestic scenery. The gentle trot of the horse was surprisingly peaceful, and the sun on my face was simply divine. I wouldn't be surprised if a few curious deer peeped out from the trees to witness this peculiar but delightful spectacle.

Finchley and Friends

My evening in Finchley involved a spot of socialising. A friend from my ballet days in Derbyshire invited me to her home for a cosy dinner party. We chatted for hours about all things ballet, the latest dance trends, and even shared a few childhood memories of our first ballets (cue the giggling and the shared reminiscence of awkward pirouettes and tripped-up steps). There's nothing like catching up with fellow ballet enthusiasts, is there?

Finding Joy in Every Step

So there you have it, my dear friends. A whirlwind weekend in Finchley. I discovered that a touch of tutu magic can transform any place into a magical adventure, even a little spot north of London.

I've discovered a lot about myself over the years, especially about the power of dressing up and embracing a playful sense of joy. Why hold back when you can sprinkle a bit of pixie dust on your every day? Life is for living, and expressing yourself through colour, creativity and a little bit of magic is exactly what makes life, well, life!

I leave you all with a simple question: why not embrace the tutu? Why not let your inner ballerina bloom? The world needs more pink, more glitter, and more joy!

Keep twirling, my friends,

Emma xx
