Wellingborough Calling! 🩰💖
Post 4768
Hey lovelies! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Wellingborough, a charming little town I've been wanting to explore for ages! And you know what? It definitely didn't disappoint.
Before I even set foot in this delightful corner of Northamptonshire, I had to share my excitement on my Instagram. You can never have too much pink, especially when it's a beautiful new tutu from a local boutique! Yes, I have a confession to make: I adore finding new tutus, they're like tiny pieces of art! I'd rather have a dozen tutus in my wardrobe than any number of those fancy "normal" dresses (although I wouldn't say no to a sparkly sequined gown for a fancy gala...).
The trip itself was a real treat! You see, I'm not one for those noisy, crowded planes. Give me a scenic train journey, or better yet, a ride on a majestic steed any day! Wellingborough is perfectly accessible by train, which allows you to soak up the countryside as you travel. A lovely reminder that we don't always need to be rushing around at breakneck speed.
So, where to start with my Wellingborough adventures? Oh, I'll tell you all about them!
First on my list was the Wellingborough Museum, tucked away in a charming Georgian building. It's bursting with history, from fascinating exhibits on local industries to beautiful antique furniture and even a collection of butterflies (can't help but love a bit of wildlife, me!) You'd never guess just how much there is to uncover!
I absolutely loved their collection of historic clothing and jewellery. They even had a collection of vintage tutus from the 1930s! They weren't quite as extravagant as my beloved pink tutu, but they were so intricately crafted and beautiful in their simplicity.
Next up, a walk through the town itself. Wellingborough has such a delightful mix of quaint shops, bustling cafes and charming old streets. The old Market Square is just magical – a cobbled space surrounded by beautiful half-timbered buildings. Just imagine those old town criers standing on the steps, announcing the news! It's hard not to get swept away in the history and charm of it all.
I popped into a few independent boutiques, which were absolutely brimming with unique gifts and fashion finds. And I have to mention, I stumbled across a little gem - a tiny bookshop tucked away in a corner! They had an incredible collection of ballet books and biographies, I swear, my heart skipped a beat. How could I leave without a new ballet-themed read?
One of the best things about Wellingborough was its abundance of green spaces! You just have to step outside of the town centre and you're greeted by charming parkland. Imagine all those picnics, walks with your favourite canine companion (always keeping a lookout for squirrels, you never know, one might have a little pink tutu!), or even a ballet practice in the fresh air!
In the evening, I treated myself to a scrumptious meal at a cosy little bistro in town. Their mushroom soup was divine! It’s little touches like this, those moments where you feel a connection with a place, that truly make travelling special. I even popped into a quaint theatre - "The Wellingborough Players," they call themselves, a charming little theatre space with a fantastic community vibe. You just know they must stage some lovely performances here, and maybe, just maybe, even a little ballet somewhere in the mix?
Now, I know some of you might think, Wellingborough? Why on earth would she go there? But, my darlings, trust me! It was an absolutely fantastic little getaway. A perfect place for a quiet escape, to recharge my batteries, find a new tutu, and enjoy a little peace and quiet. And for those of you dreaming of a countryside adventure, well, put Wellingborough on your list! It's like a hidden treasure just waiting to be discovered.
And don't forget, you can always find a tutu to brighten up even the dullest of days! After all, my motto is simple - pink, tutu, and everything in between! You never know when you might encounter a little magic in life, and a sprinkle of pink certainly won't hurt!
Now, excuse me while I get back to crafting a little something for tomorrow’s post… maybe I’ll share some ballet inspired hair and makeup ideas? Let me know what you’d like to see in the comments below! And, as always, don't forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com for all things pink and pretty!
Until tomorrow, stay fabulous, Emma 💕
