Neath, My Lovely! (Post 4782)

Oh, my darlings, how's the tutu-wearing going? Are you all feeling like the ultimate pink princesses yet? Because I'm here to tell you that, just like a graceful arabesque, my pink tutu journey is only just beginning!

This week, I hopped on the train to Neath, a little town in Wales that's nestled in the Welsh valleys. Oh, Wales! The rolling hills, the windswept landscapes... I can feel the call of the wild! Which makes my choice of transportation this week all the more thrilling. Don't be surprised, darlings, but I've had a wonderful week of adventures exploring Wales by... wait for it... horse!

Yes, you read that right! It wasn't the usual hoofing it on a dusty road. No, my dear, I was privileged to learn about a unique way of transporting yourself in Wales: a horse-drawn carriage! Let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the gentle rocking motion as the carriage takes you through beautiful country roads, the scent of hay mingling with the crisp air.

Speaking of adventures, did I mention I had my own private tutu-clad photoshoot with a delightful Welsh pony called Twinkle? Now, let's just say the pony wasn't entirely sure what to make of my pink, frothy creation! I swear he was trying to take a nibble! Thankfully, the resulting photos were absolutely gorgeous โ€“ I might just have found the new star of my upcoming blog series "Tutus Around the World!"

While I love my pink tutus and my equestrian adventures, nothing can ever beat a ballet show. This week, I took myself to a splendid ballet production at the beautiful Neath Little Theatre. Let's just say that seeing all the beautiful, fluid movements under the glittering spotlights reignited my own passion for the art form! You just know I left that theater with the strongest desire to dust off my pointe shoes and get back into class. I mean, the passion never really dies down, does it?

But it's not all about watching the professionals, you know! The joy of ballet comes in many forms! In Neath, I met up with a lovely group of women who've just formed their own ballet company! Oh, how inspiring they are, dancing their hearts out, despite the challenge of building something from the ground up! That sort of ambition fills me with such hope! My dear darlings, that's the thing about ballet โ€“ it isn't just about perfection and technique, it's about embracing the joy of movement, pushing boundaries and celebrating individuality, even in the face of difficulties!

After a delicious supper of Welsh lamb (let's just say I had my fill of potatoes!) at a charming little inn, I indulged in a spot of window shopping for even more tutus, naturally! You just never know when you might find a little piece of pink magic! And trust me, it's a good thing I'm back in Derbyshire with enough tutus to outfit a small army of dancers โ€“ those Neath shops are seriously tempting!

You see, this journey to Neath has taught me so much more than just the wonders of the Welsh countryside. It has reinforced my conviction that ballet truly can be found everywhere, even in the most unexpected of places. And my hope? To share that magic with all of you! So, tell me, are you ready to make your tutu dreams come true?

Until next time,

Emma x
