Laindon Calling! 🩰

Hello my darling Tutuholics! 💖 It's your girl Emma, coming to you live from the quaint town of Laindon, Essex! I know, I know, not the most glamorous of locations, but hey, even the most ordinary places can surprise you.

This is post number 4831 on the good ol' www.pink-tutu.com, and today's theme? Travel, my dears! ✈️🚄

Now, some of you know I'm a big fan of travelling by train. It's something so charming about gliding through the countryside, watching the world go by, sipping on a hot chocolate and, of course, getting into my absolute favourite tutu of the moment - my European style one!

This beaut's got layers upon layers of pink tulle, each one shimmering like a thousand tiny stars. It's a bit heavier than my usual fluffy, breezy ones, but the weight adds to its grandness, reminding me of the opulence of those beautiful European ballerinas from times past.

Now, I'm no ballerina of yore, mind you. My days of serious performance are mostly confined to the stage in our local Derby theatre, but the magic of ballet still weaves its way through my very being. There's just something about those sweeping leaps, the graceful turns, the emotion etched onto a dancer's face... it's pure art.

This weekend I treated myself to a day of ballet exploration in Laindon, and let me tell you, it was absolutely bliss.

I started my morning at the charming local dance studio, The Pointe Studio. Honestly, you'd think you'd stumbled into a Victorian tea room, it's that quaint. They had little tables with flower arrangements and cute lace doilies. I had to restrain myself from picking up a teacup and saucer and doing a little ballet dance in front of the mirror.

Of course, I did get myself a lovely pink latte (with extra froth, thank you very much), and enjoyed some incredible ballet classes with the lovely folks at The Pointe. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, like being hugged by a feather boa, and the teachers were all about passion and encouraging your own style.

Speaking of style, my tutu made quite a statement! It’s surprisingly comfortable and doesn't get caught on everything, and honestly, there's something divine about how a flowing tulle skirt reacts to a graceful plié or an elegant développé. Chef’s kiss.

After the class, I took a wander around Laindon, letting the European style tutu and my love for ballet shine through the Essex streets.

Turns out, Laindon has a surprisingly vibrant arts scene. After a delicious cuppa (and some delightful Victoria sponge!), I spent a couple of hours exploring the Laindon Centre, and I discovered an incredible little theatre hidden within the local community hall! They have amateur dance troupes, play readings, and even puppet shows! I'm not kidding, there was a full-on rendition of “Alice in Wonderland" done with adorable hand puppets. I mean, honestly, how can you resist such adorable cuteness?

Later, I indulged in the beautiful nature around the Laindon park. While I admire all things cute and fluffy, I'm a wildlife fan too! I even managed to spot a little fox snoozing beneath a tree in the sunshine.

Laindon surprised me. It might not have the glam factor of a London dance studio, but the friendly people, the dedication to the arts, and the vibrant community spirit? Well, let’s just say my European-style tutu twirled happily in the Laindon sunshine!

And you know what? This little trip has me thinking... perhaps our style, be it tutu or any other outfit, should never be restricted by location. A bit of flair, a bit of fun, a dash of tutu magic, wherever we go? Now that's something I can get behind!

So, whether you're in Laindon, London, or La La Land, wear your hearts (and tutus!) on your sleeves. Life's too short to blend in.

Love, Emma xx 💖

PS: I've been experimenting with new ways to get everyone wearing pink tutus. How do you think we can make it a movement? Tell me all your ideas! 💭💖
