Dover Dreams: A Tutu Trip Through Time

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your pink-loving tutu-obsessed blogger, coming to you live from the beautiful seaside town of Dover!

As many of you know, I'm a girl who adores a good adventure, and this weekend was all about taking a step back in time, embracing the whimsy, and, of course, showcasing the most delightful tutu I've ever donned!

It all began with a whirlwind journey down from my beloved Derbyshire. You see, my dear friend Clara and I decided a train journey was the perfect way to travel. Picture us: sipping hot chocolate in the plush carriages, catching up on gossip and daydreams, with the landscape painting an ever-changing tapestry outside the windows. It's a moment I truly cherish, you know?

Upon arriving in Dover, the crisp seaside air filled me with a giddy excitement. We found our quaint bed and breakfast – imagine quaint little rooms decorated with roses and lace, it was absolutely charming! But what really stole the show was the breakfast: full English with the freshest local produce. It’s a true taste of England!

Then came the reason for our trip: the annual Dover Shakespeare Festival! We had tickets for the enchanting A Midsummer Night's Dream, and let me tell you, the experience was pure magic. I felt a little bit like I'd stepped straight into the play! There were twinkling lights, a rustic stage bathed in moonlight, and the actors were phenomenal. Oh, and did I mention I went all out in my most whimsical tutu? It was a sparkling concoction of pink tulle and delicate butterfly wings. Naturally, it paired perfectly with a cute floral headband, a dainty purse adorned with a miniature teacup, and, of course, my beloved ballet flats!

After the performance, we strolled through the town's charming streets, catching the enchanting sounds of the street musicians. It felt like the entire town was buzzing with a sense of adventure. It really did feel like the old days, and my heart felt light and free!

The next day was filled with delightful discoveries. We visited the Dover Castle, a truly magnificent sight with its historical architecture and breathtaking views. And then we took a trip to the Dover Cliffs, feeling like we were standing on the edge of the world, gazing at the vast expanse of the English Channel. We were surrounded by majestic birds of prey gliding in the sky, their wings casting graceful shadows upon the white cliffs. This feeling of being amongst the wilderness, the freedom, it resonated deeply.

The highlight of the trip was definitely a visit to the nearby White Cliffs National Nature Reserve. I confess I almost sprinted through the rolling hills, feeling like a sprite dancing in a meadow. It’s pure joy and magic! As we gazed out to the sea, it truly felt like a scene from a dream – the cliffs rising majestically out of the blue expanse, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. We even spotted some adorable baby rabbits hopping around the wildflowers!

Our time in Dover was all too brief, but it was a whirlwind of fun, a beautiful escape filled with theatrical wonders, breathtaking landscapes, and an incredible sense of whimsy.

So my dear readers, have you ever been to Dover? And if you haven't, I truly implore you to go! This place will truly capture your heart, I promise.

I'll be back with more travel adventures, maybe with another new tutu design (it's a surprise!), but until then, remember to wear pink, dance freely, and let your inner fairy take flight. And if you're ever feeling like your life needs a little touch of magic, hop on a train or a horse, and venture into the unknown. The world is full of wondrous discoveries!

Much love,

Emma xx
