Upminster Calling! #TutuBlog 4897 🩰💕

Hello lovelies! It's your girl Emma, reporting live from Upminster, Essex. Where am I, you ask? Well, you know me - always chasing adventure! This time, it was a chance to catch a truly captivating performance of "Giselle" at the charming Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, and, naturally, I couldn't resist a little impromptu Tutu adventure.

Let me tell you, the journey itself was delightful! I left my Derbyshire home bright and early this morning, swapping my usual pink ballet shoes for trusty walking boots for the train journey down. There's nothing quite like a scenic train ride. It gives you time to lose yourself in a good book (currently obsessed with 'The Secret Garden', which I found in a little antique bookshop in Derby - what a find!). I think trains are absolutely magical, don't you? All that rushing past scenery... It's like being in a storybook.

As I alighted in Upminster, I could feel a buzz in the air! It was like everyone knew the magic of a beautiful ballet was about to unfold. Now, before you ask, yes, I've donned a tutu! A most marvelous vintage one, pink of course (because what else?!), with a stunning ruffled hem and a ribbon so long, it almost sweeps the floor! You can find some fabulous vintage finds if you just keep your eyes open! I was particularly lucky in a delightful little shop in London's Borough Market last week. The lovely owner even said he thought the tutu was just made for me, how divine is that?!

Of course, I couldn't resist a cheeky photoshoot. The station just oozes charm! Brick walls, cobblestone walkways, an old-fashioned sign with charming floral decoration - pure Insta-worthy magic! The light was particularly glorious, casting everything in a golden hue. And me? Well, I think I made a pretty stunning addition to the scene myself, all twirling and twirling to my heart's content, and it wasn't long before people started noticing! One elderly gentleman even offered to snap my picture. Honestly, everyone should be dancing in the streets, right? Life's too short for stiff, boring routines!

And what a beautiful performance "Giselle" was! The story itself, with all its beauty, drama, and tragedy, was breathtaking. But I tell you, it's the ballerina's absolute mastery of every flick of the wrist, every leap, every gesture that leaves you spellbound. Ballet is like another language, full of nuances, gestures, emotions. You've got to really feel the music! And even if it’s the first time seeing a ballet, you just know that you're in for a treat. You get completely lost in it.

Afterwards, it was out into the evening light of Upminster for some supper. A delightful cafe with cosy lighting served the most divine strawberry tarts. Oh my, those strawberry tarts were absolutely sensational. (If anyone's reading from Derbyshire, please, tell me there are some similar wonders out there? ) I’m a sucker for sweet treats and anything that combines classic charm with just the right dose of sugar rush! I even convinced a couple of strangers to give it a try.

You know me, spreading the love - the love of tutus, ballet, and just living life with that bit of pink-tinted sparkle! And it seems my passion for dance is catching, too! As I sat there with my yummy treat, I couldn’t help but eavesdrop a little. Two of the waitresses, young ladies in their twenties, were excitedly discussing going to a local dance class together. Now, I've got to find out more about this! I do think it would be delightful to get my own class going down in Derby, perhaps with some friends? I'm hoping it might catch on with my readers too, so keep those eyes peeled on www.pink-tutu.com! Maybe you'll be joining me for a ballet class next time you hear from me.

Now, where am I off to next? My dear friend Jessica's been getting quite smitten with a beautiful grey horse at a nearby farm! So I think we’ll make our way there tomorrow for some quality horse time! She’s just the most incredible, adventurous, free spirit. Always happy to throw herself into whatever I get up to. Sometimes she comes to see the ballets with me, but this time, she wants to do some horse riding. What do you know, there’s a fabulous stable nearby! It seems all roads lead to dance! Who would have thought!

And for those of you with an adventurous soul, and, of course, a soft spot for tutus (pink, naturally! ) you can follow me on this blog. Every day is a new ballet adventure for www.pink-tutu.com! Do you have a story to tell? If you're ready to try your first pirouette, or you've been dancing your whole life, leave a message for me, my dear readers! Every single day is a chance to discover more about the world, more about yourself, and yes, even more about that fabulous twirl!

Remember, ballet isn't just about dancing, it's about expressing yourself. It's about making every moment a beautiful dance. So put on your most fabulous tutu, throw your heart into every twirl, and join the pink ballet revolution! See you all next time!

Lots of love and a thousand pink kisses,

Emma 🩰💕
