Hammersmith Bound! (Post #4957)

Hello my darling darlings! Emma here, signing in from the good old Derbyshire countryside. Oh, how I love a crisp, fresh morning here in the Dales! There's nothing like waking up to the smell of fresh cut hay and the sight of sheep bleating good morning (a far cry from the sound of car horns in London!). But fear not, my sweet pink-loving friends, because I'm about to head off on a grand adventure - all in the name of ballet, of course!

Today, my dear blogosphere, I'm heading to the bright lights of Hammersmith! My faithful steed (my little Mini Cooper, aptly named 'Prima Ballerina') is all polished up and ready to carry me through the scenic countryside and into the heart of London. But it's not just any journey to London, oh no, my dears! This time, I'm embarking on a cultural pilgrimage - I'm going to see a ballet performance. And not just any ballet, mind you!

I'm attending the much-anticipated "The Italian Tutus"! Now, this performance, my loves, is guaranteed to be a spectacular extravaganza of tutus, talent, and the most vibrant pink imaginable! Think "pink tulle clouds" swirling and dipping across the stage to the melody of a classical Italian masterpiece. Just the thought of it sets my little tutu-clad heart aflutter!

Of course, I wouldn't go to such a glorious occasion without being fully kitted out myself! I'm sporting my new, Italian-inspired pink tutu – you know the kind, a soft, flowing masterpiece in layers upon layers of the most exquisite pink tulle. I'm even pairing it with my sparkly pink ballerina flats. I couldn't go anywhere near ballet without looking the part, could I?

And before you even ask, dear friends, yes I’ve had a little ballet practice in the garden this morning. My back garden has been turned into a miniature theatre, with my prized topiary topiaries as my cheering audience. (Don’t worry, they’re still living - and thriving! Just maybe a bit more stressed now that I’ve finally mastered the 'Grand Jeté')!

Speaking of the journey to Hammersmith… do you know, I can’t believe how much the trains have changed since I was a wee lass! Back then, a train journey involved steam, sandwiches, and staring at a very confused sheep in the opposite carriage (a story for another day!) Now, with plush seats, free Wi-Fi, and little snack carts, it’s practically like travelling in your own pink palace. Although I do still find myself daydreaming of those long journeys through rolling hills, gazing at the green fields dotted with little, fluffy white lambs…

Sigh!

But back to my exciting adventure, my lovelies!

While the excitement of "The Italian Tutus" builds inside me, I couldn't possibly let this beautiful day pass without mentioning the little pink cloud of fluffy happiness that my morning has been. I went out for a stroll before my dance class this morning and spotted a baby hare… in the middle of our neighbour's lavender patch! It was so small and so utterly adorable, just hopping around amongst those pretty purple blooms. My heart, my dear blogosphere, absolutely melted!

That little bunny brought to mind my goal in life, my dears – my ultimate mission. You all know I adore tutus! My love for them knows no bounds, it is limitless. But there’s so much more to this tutu life than simply sporting pink tulle, it’s about joy! Joy in self expression, joy in creativity, joy in laughter… And who’s to say that joy can't involve leaping around in a sparkly pink tutu while a little bunny hops beside you? (Disclaimer: I did not try to hop like a bunny. At least not in front of my neighbour! He's really lovely, but the neighbour's judgement can be rather severe on a Sunday afternoon)

See, I really believe, with my whole heart and all of the tulle that I'm wearing, that the world would be a better place if everyone embraced this joy - everyone wearing pink tutus and finding the grace within themselves!

And as you’re reading this, my dearest followers, I’m already starting to imagine my outfit for my next ballet class!

Stay tuned for the pinkest adventure ever…

And, dear readers, until next time - Keep your spirits high and your tutus ready for more pink adventures!

Love always,
Emma www.pink-tutu.com
