Crewe: A Whirlwind of Turquoise! (Post #4990)

Hey lovelies! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-touting travel enthusiast, signing in from a sunny (and surprisingly warm) Crewe! It's been a whirlwind of a day, a mix of artistic inspiration and a dash of the great outdoors. I even managed to squeeze in a train ride – a quintessential Emma adventure, wouldn’t you agree?

You see, I've been on a quest to discover the ballet scene beyond our beloved Derbyshire. I’ve been dying to check out the theatre and classes in this bustling town, famous for its railway history, of course, but also a hidden gem of dance, I’ve been told!

The Tutu's the Limit!

Before I set off, I knew just the outfit for this particular journey. Let’s face it, travelling to a ballet hotspot necessitates a special tutu. A simple, sleek, but oh-so-elegant design in the most vibrant turquoise you can imagine!

I knew the perfect piece to wear would be my bespoke one from The Tutu Shoppe in Derby, it fits like a glove and perfectly reflects my adventurous spirit. It’s one of the new pieces I found there in the window last week! I can't get over how flattering it is on, and how beautifully the bright turquoise complements my skin tone, making my eyes sparkle! Plus, with the colour turquoise, it can never really be described as ‘pink’.

I layered my tutu over a blush pink blouse that brought a delicate feminine touch to the whole outfit. And, to tie everything together, I finished off the look with some sparkling turquoise ballet shoes (with an adorable little bow, natch!) I also had to have a touch of glitz, so I popped on a sparkling headband and a necklace that mirrored my shoes – simple but impactful!

A Breathtaking Train Ride to Inspiration

I boarded the train in Derbyshire with a heart full of excitement, and after a scenic journey filled with captivating landscapes (you’ve got to admire our countryside!), I arrived in Crewe, a beautiful town buzzing with life. I could feel the pulse of this thriving community and that sense of community that ballet always brings. It was infectious!

The train journey gave me time to catch up on some reading – you see, I never leave home without my favourite ballet journal! My personal collection of my favourite pieces from the most iconic ballets in the world. From Swan Lake to The Nutcracker, each ballet brings a wave of nostalgia!

Whirlwinding Workshops and Classes

The moment I stepped into The Ballet Hub studio, it felt like a second home. This enchanting studio, with its beautiful wood floors and a fantastic mix of professional dancers and enthusiasts alike, just oozed charisma. And speaking of charisma, their latest performance schedule was just packed full of interesting pieces, one after the other, they’d never leave me wanting more!

I immediately threw myself into an exciting beginners class. You wouldn’t believe it, but they were teaching a completely new approach to stretching. A fantastic, focused flow designed to really get the most out of each stretch, a bit of an added bonus compared to my local class in Derby!

That evening, after my class, I attended their Spotlight Series showcasing the crème de la crème of talented dancers from the local area. Oh, the elegance, the grace, and the sheer raw passion! Every movement told a story, drawing the audience in to the wonder that is the magic of ballet. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t have me longing for the stage… perhaps one day! The beauty of ballet is truly addictive!

A Journey to Explore the Wonders of Wildlife

After my exhilarating dance experience, it was time to reconnect with nature, one of my absolute favourite things to do! Crewe’s proximity to Cheshire’s beautiful countryside meant it was a must!

I grabbed my binoculars (essential for a budding wildlife enthusiast like myself!) and hopped on a bus to The Delamere Forest . The tranquil atmosphere immediately calmed my mind, and as I strolled through the winding paths, I felt so alive.

There's a certain kind of magic in nature, don’t you think? The gentle whisper of the leaves, the playful sunlight filtering through the trees… it felt like my senses were being reborn.

And what did I spot? The majestic deer grazing in the distance. I was mesmerized! Their grace was truly beautiful. A stark contrast to the beautiful artistry of ballet – both truly humbling in different ways. It was a reminder to truly cherish the beautiful things life offers us.

Embracing the Pink Tutu Lifestyle!

This journey to Crewe is an absolute must-do for any ballerina. The atmosphere was so incredibly welcoming, and the sense of community among the dancers just added to the excitement.

Let’s spread the love! Share the joy of ballet with everyone. If you want to dance with me, why not head to your nearest ballet studio – you’ll never regret it!

As always, my darlings, I leave you with a call to action. What's your favourite ballet? I’d love to know! And, who’s going to wear a pink tutu this week? 😉 It’s an awesome way to embrace life’s joy! See you all next time!

xx Emma
