So, where do I even begin?! My journey to Rochester was pure fairytale. Picture it: a glorious day in Derbyshire, a fresh breeze whispering through the trees, and I'm on a journey by train, rocking a sunshine-yellow, floral-print tutu that wouldn't look out of place at a whimsical tea party.
Oh, how I love those railways! You see, there's a magic to journeys by train. There's the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels, the quaint little stations, and the delicious, warm smell of those crispy-toasted sandwiches from the buffet cart. But best of all is the feeling of adventure! It's like a grand adventure unfolds before you, one breathtakingly beautiful view at a time.
Rochester, you are quite the little charmer, indeed! I'm falling in love with your cobblestone streets, your stunning cathedral (all those pointy towers! So fairytale!), and, oh my, the swans in the castle moat were such graceful ballerinas, twirling their feathery skirts with effortless ease!
Now, you know my motto, darlings: “Tutu Every Day!” So, I simply couldn’t resist donning a nature-inspired tutu for my Rochester adventures! It's a pale, shimmering pink, almost the colour of the prettiest rose, with delicate lace trim and fluttering leaves scattered around it.
Let's talk about nature for a minute, shall we? I love the quiet awe that comes from wandering through the countryside, spotting birds, and simply feeling that blissful peace. Nature truly inspires me! And it always takes me right back to those little ballet steps – that effortless fluidity and the feeling of being weightless. The perfect harmony of human form and graceful movement is just so magical!
In Rochester, I visited the beautiful Rochester Castle Gardens. It's a delightful oasis of colourful blooms and fragrant flowers, a place where even a city girl like me can feel a connection to the wild side of things. Honestly, darling, you've never felt that happy-go-lucky "Oh, I could twirl forever!" feeling until you've had a moment under the canopy of a magnificent willow tree, surrounded by singing birds! I just had to bust out some graceful pirouettes and a "Birds of Paradise" en pointe leap – the perfect tribute to my love for both ballet and nature. I wonder if anyone captured it on video? My Insta-worthy moment!
Of course, a day out for a tutu-wearing ballerina in Rochester isn't complete without ballet! This town boasts the wonderful Rochester Dance Academy. I was just SO lucky that they had a class in that very moment! It felt so fitting. The perfect blend of beauty, grace, and energy is all right there, ready for you to unleash! It's a real privilege to dance amidst these gorgeous people, all striving for something beautiful – something grand. And in that class, it’s truly not about skill. It’s about passion and love! And just that simple joy that blooms within you every time you take a graceful leap or hold that perfect pose!
I just LOVE these class opportunities, you see. It reminds me why I continue to share my passion with the world. I simply cannot get enough of that warm embrace, the collective gasp at a beautiful grand jeté, or those quiet, but strong moments when the air crackles with energy right before we all come together to bow at the end of class. You know that feeling! You just melt into that feeling! You forget everything else – work, the world outside the studio. You just get lost in the steps, the flow, the pure artistry.
