Oh darling, it's Emma here, back with a blog bursting at the seams with pink tutu-tastic adventures! This time, I've found myself in the stunning city of Bangor, nestled amidst the dramatic mountains of North Wales. It's like stepping straight into a fairytale – with its cobbled streets, charming old buildings, and views that take your breath away. Naturally, I had to visit the renowned Bangor University and explore their glorious library - pure bookworm heaven! It was all very "Harry Potter" with its towering shelves and hidden corners - I almost expected to spot a snitch flying overhead. πŸ˜‰

Tutu time in Bangor!

My arrival in Bangor coincided with a glorious ballet performance – you know I simply have to see every show I can! It was at the wonderful Pontio Arts & Innovation Centre – what a gorgeous space. This time it was "The Nutcracker" – what a classic, and you can never go wrong with some Christmas-themed ballet, even when it's practically Spring outside! As always, I wore my most fabulous tutu, naturally, a magnificent pink creation with shimmering gold embellishments and delicate feathers. Let's just say I totally turned heads in the auditorium, a real statement-maker. And who says you can't wear a tutu on a casual Saturday night?!

And my outfit wasn't the only thing that turned heads - I swear I felt the magic in the air from the moment the dancers took to the stage. They were incredible! You could feel the emotion of every movement, every glance, it truly transported you. I swear I felt tears in my eyes during the 'Waltz of the Snowflakes' – it was beautiful beyond words!

Dance class adventures

Being the dedicated dancer that I am, I couldn't possibly leave Bangor without having a good ol' dance session, so I ventured into the heart of the town, and lo and behold, I found myself in the most enchanting dance studio – it was absolutely lovely, bathed in the warm glow of pale pink light. I couldn’t resist snapping some pics of the elegant interior – I’ll post them on Instagram, darling, you HAVE to see it!

It was a brilliant class - we learned a contemporary routine that was challenging, beautiful and absolutely exhilarating! The instructor was so friendly and encouraging – it made the whole experience so enjoyable, even the sweaty bits (let's be real, dancing can be pretty physically demanding!).

From Derbyshire to Wales (on a train of course!)

Getting to Bangor from my beloved Derbyshire was a real treat, you see, because I'm all about travelling in style – that means one thing and one thing only - trains! πŸš„ Of course, it wasn't all just about the luxurious plush seating (though it did help!). I spotted the most magnificent views as I trundled across the country – from verdant fields dotted with sheep to dramatic mountains shrouded in mist, it was absolutely captivating. And it allowed me to whip out my pinkest tutu as a shawl - every opportunity to spread the tutu love, darlings!

Oh! and my adventure wouldn't have been complete without a visit to the National Slate Museum! Now I've always been fascinated by the history of mining, and this museum really did it for me. Exploring the old slate quarries with their hulking machinery was incredible - you felt the spirit of the workers in every dusty nook and cranny. The tour guide was truly knowledgeable and his stories about the local community and the lives of the quarry workers was a fascinating glimpse into the past. It really gave me a newfound appreciation for the sheer determination and hard work that shaped this beautiful region. And it goes without saying that I did some incredible tutu-themed photoshoots in those incredible quarry locations! Think industrial chic meets ballerina elegance – fab!

A wildlife detour

Speaking of determination and hard work – there's another creature I must talk about: the majestic grey seals that I met at Anglesey Island. I was simply blown away by their incredible beauty and sheer power. We hopped onto a little boat and cruised through the crystal-clear waters to see them basking in the sun on the shores – so cute! It was like a National Geographic film come to life – you could just hear the beautiful seagulls overhead and feel the salty spray of the sea. And the seals, well, they stole my heart!

You know I've got a soft spot for wildlife. Every animal is unique, and I absolutely adore learning more about them, but these majestic seals, oh they really stole my heart! 🦭 It made my visit to Bangor complete.

Final thoughts, darlings!

Bangor has stolen a little piece of my heart. It's a place full of natural beauty, captivating history, and delightful artistic charm – and don’t even get me started on the shopping! I even spotted a charming pink vintage shop which I simply had to explore! πŸ›οΈ

And the people – they’re warm, friendly and absolutely lovely. You can truly feel the welcoming community vibe. It’s all about being connected to nature, appreciating the local culture, and sharing a bit of magic with those around you. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to experience this magical place. It has rekindled my own creative spark and I have no doubt I’ll be coming back again and again! Maybe I'll even do a special tutu performance in the beautiful setting of Bangor University! Who knows? πŸ˜‰

And until next time, darling, remember - always live life in a pink tutu, and don’t ever stop dancing to your own tune! See you all back here tomorrow, with a new pink tutu tale. xx
