Crosby Calling: Tutu Time on the Mersey! 🩰

Hello lovelies! 💖 Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, and it’s time for another whimsical journey, straight from my Derbyshire heart to your screens!

This is post number 5034 - can you believe it?! It feels like only yesterday I was a nervous little dancer taking my first plié, and now I'm a seasoned (slightly less nervous) ballet aficionado with a passion for tutus, trains, and of course, sharing the joy of dance with all of you.

Today, I’m taking you to the beautiful coastal town of Crosby, nestled on the Mersey estuary just a stone's throw from Liverpool. A seaside adventure with a splash of tutu-licious pink, of course!

A Ballet Trip and a Colourful Confession

Let’s be honest, who doesn't love a good train journey? I recently discovered that a trip to Crosby, on the outskirts of Liverpool, offers a spectacular combination of coastal beauty and an exciting ballet performance at the Floral Pavilion, their arts centre!

This particular performance had me absolutely enthralled. The dancers were exceptional, gliding across the stage in shimmering tutus that practically screamed "ballet!" I'd be lying if I said I didn't spend most of the show imagining myself pirouetting alongside them, wearing my own gorgeous cyan tutu! Speaking of tutus...

A Colourful Adventure in Cyan

Have you ever felt drawn to a particular shade? For me, it's cyan. Don’t judge me - I know pink is my colour, but sometimes a girl needs a little turquoise sparkle in her life. This week, I decided to embrace this colour crush by sporting a gloriously fluffy, cyan tutu. It was the perfect choice for a seaside stroll, fluttering gently in the sea breeze like a beautiful little ocean wave!

Tutus by the Beach: The Perfect Photo Op!

There's something wonderfully playful about dancing in a tutu by the seaside. I mean, come on, who needs a stage when you have a beautiful backdrop like the Mersey estuary?! I took so many pictures, from a cheeky "Tutu by the Sea" selfie with a cheeky seagull to dramatic twirls with the vast blue sky as my backdrop.

A Little Bit of Ballet Street, A Little Bit of Wildlife

Let’s face it, any chance I get to spread the love of dance, I’m taking it! While walking the coastal path, I stumbled upon a group of young girls taking ballet classes by the beach. It was so heartwarming to see them embracing ballet in the open air, their movements echoing the rhythm of the waves.

Now, who says ballet and wildlife don't mix? As I took in the view, I spotted a pair of magnificent grey herons wading gracefully in the shallows, their elegance mirroring the fluidity of a ballet dancer. Nature really is a dance floor for every creature, and it reminds me why I love travelling so much. Each destination holds new wonders and unique stories to tell.

Spread the Pink Tutu Love!

Remember, lovelies, ballet is for everyone! If you've ever dreamt of wearing a tutu, I say GO FOR IT! Don't let anyone tell you that ballet is just for the ‘elite’ – there’s no age, shape or size requirement when it comes to dancing your heart out. Who knows, you might even be inspired to twirl around your home in a fluffy tutu!

My Little Tip

If you're feeling brave, take a stroll around the famous ‘Another Place’ sculpture installation near the Floral Pavilion. You'll find a whole line of cast-iron men wading towards the horizon, just waiting for you to have a playful dance with them! It's the perfect combination of art and whimsical tutu adventures.

Until next time, keep dancing, keep travelling, and above all, keep spreading the pink tutu love! 💖

Love, Emma
