Cheshunt: Tutu-tastic Travels!

Hello my darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballet bunny, Emma, writing to you from the sunny (and slightly breezy) streets of Cheshunt! Yes, I’ve taken the plunge and traded in my trusty steed for a train journey, a most glamorous form of transport if I do say so myself. And it wouldn’t be a trip for a tutu enthusiast without a splash of pink! I've gone for my favourite new American-style tutu, the one with the billowing layers that make me feel like I'm floating on a cloud! It's absolutely perfect for a day of exploring, and it even comes with a little matching handbag to hold all my essentials.

The reason for my Cheshunt adventure? Well, it wouldn't be a week without a spot of ballet, now, would it? Today I'm on my way to the renowned Cheshunt Theatre to catch a performance of "The Sleeping Beauty". I'm practically vibrating with excitement - it's my favourite classic, and I just can't wait to see how this particular troupe will interpret it. Who knows, maybe I’ll even spot some inspiration for a new pink tutu design!

Speaking of inspiration, let’s take a moment to admire Cheshunt's captivating beauty. It’s a quaint little town with cobbled streets, colourful shops and an enchanting river winding its way through the centre. I’ve already had the pleasure of wandering through a charming antiques shop, which housed a magnificent old gramophone that played the most delightful melodies – truly a sight to behold. Oh, and let's not forget the adorable little tea shop tucked away on a quiet corner where I treated myself to a dainty pink afternoon tea complete with delicate sandwiches, finger scones, and a pot of fragrant Earl Grey. The pastries were adorned with delicate floral frosting, of course, and my dainty porcelain cup was the perfect shade of blush pink - what more could a tutu-loving girl ask for?

I did, however, find a rather unfortunate absence of pink in the local wildlife, much to my disappointment! I’d been hoping for a pink flamingo or even a particularly rosy robin. But the local swans seemed content with their pristine white plumage, and the grey squirrels were much too busy gathering nuts for the upcoming winter to be fazed by a fashionable ballerina. Not to be deterred, I decided to inject some pink into the natural landscape with a whimsical photoshoot by the river! Imagine the contrast of my shimmering pink tutu against the emerald green leaves and the crystal clear water. Just picture it - pure balletic beauty, captured forever. I shall post the photos on my website later, of course.

So, here I am, sitting in a charming little coffee shop enjoying a macaron while I scribble these very words down. My little heart is brimming with inspiration, the air buzzing with the promise of ballet magic. In just a couple of hours, the curtain will rise at Cheshunt Theatre and I’ll be swept away in the captivating world of dance.

But enough about me – what’s happening in your corner of the world, my lovely readers? Have you had any pink tutu moments this week? Are you enjoying a particularly exciting adventure? Maybe you’re indulging in a delicious afternoon tea? I’d love to hear all about it! Remember, the world is your ballet stage - go out there and embrace every opportunity to twirl, to shine, to simply live life in a fabulous, pink-tutu-wearing kind of way!

Until next time, darling readers! Stay twirly, stay fabulous, and remember: a pink tutu can take you anywhere!

Emma x
