Worksop Whirl: A Tutu Tale of Trains & Tutus

Helloooo darlings! 💖

It’s Emma here, and guess what? This is post number 5060! Can you believe it? Five thousand and sixty posts! I feel like a ballerina on the grandest of stages. It just shows that life, much like a pirouette, keeps spinning!

Anyway, onto today’s adventure! I've been itching to get back to Worksop – it’s a place that always feels like a fairy tale, even with my very real and rather large tutu in tow. 😉

I started my day, of course, with a morning ballet class at my favourite studio in Derbyshire. My instructor, Mrs. Beaumont, is a dear friend and the most supportive dance teacher in the entire world! After nailing a few graceful Fouettés (those beautiful whipping turns!), I hopped onto the train, all twirly skirts billowing in the breeze (which I might add was practically singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”!), heading to the heart of Nottinghamshire.

There’s just something about trains, don't you think? The rumble, the rhythm, and that distinct scent of polished steel and slightly musty luggage – it all makes me feel so alive!

And, it’s always a pleasure to watch the scenery change, from the rolling fields of Derbyshire to the charming towns and villages along the way. You’ve just got to love the countryside! Speaking of which, I couldn’t help but notice a beautiful pair of grey squirrels scurrying along the fence, and they reminded me of how much I love wildlife. (Yes, even the mischievous little squirrels!).

Oh, darling! Do you remember those magnificent squirrels I saw in the forest of Sherwood last year? They were quite a sight – two little bundles of furry fun, practically waltzing through the trees! It felt like something straight out of a whimsical ballet!

Anyways, once I arrived in Worksop, I went to the charming cafe near the train station called “The Pink Peony”. It was divine! All pale pink and floral with a gorgeous display of freshly-baked cakes. I indulged in a pink frosted cupcake - because when in Worksop, do as the locals do, right? 😉

From there, it was onto my reason for the visit: the magnificent Worksop Town Hall! They have a beautiful little ballet theatre and this week was their annual showcase of "Ballet Extravaganza!" Oh, darling! It was sensational! Imagine a glorious combination of ballet, contemporary dance, and modern music, all swirling and flowing in an elegant, vibrant, utterly captivating way!

The entire experience was simply divine – the performance was incredible, the theatre was beautifully decorated in shades of pink, and I even got to chat with a fellow tutu-wearing enthusiast who told me all about their passion for dance! (Just imagine my delight! We chatted for ages about everything from our favourite ballets to our favourite pink outfits! We even vowed to start a tutu-making workshop together). I can't even tell you how wonderful it felt to connect with another soul who understood the language of tutu and grace.

The evening concluded with a grand celebratory dinner at “The White Horse”, an old pub renown for its charm, hospitality, and mouth-watering menu (think steak and ale pie with a generous serving of delicious creamy mashed potatoes. Mmmmm!).

Before my homeward train journey (yes, I love the thrill of catching the last train of the day, which is a bit like performing an elegant and spontaneous late-night ballet! ), I wandered the charming streets of Worksop, admiring the beautiful architecture and historic houses. I even found a sweet little boutique selling handmade jewellery – a gorgeous pink and gold locket caught my eye, and I simply couldn't resist bringing it home!

The train ride back was serene and relaxing, and it allowed me to reflect on the wonders of this delightful day. Every visit to Worksop always inspires me – the beautiful buildings, the welcoming atmosphere, and the vibrant culture. This small town definitely proves that sometimes the best adventures can be found just a short distance from your own doorstep!

Until tomorrow, my loves!

Love,

Emma xoxo

P.S. Do you love pink tutus as much as I do? Remember, dear ones, you don't need to be a ballerina to wear a tutu! Every day can be a chance to embrace the magic of this fabulous garment! Just remember, wear it with confidence, and watch the world bloom in all its rosy glory!

P.P.S I’ll be posting some photos of my adventures later today! Stay tuned to www.pink-tutu.com, where I share all things pretty, fabulous and sparkly every single day. See you tomorrow, darling! 💖
