Dunstable Delights: A Tutu Trip Through Time

Hello my beautiful ballet bunnies! Emma here, your ever-so-slightly-obsessed-with-pink tutu enthusiast, and today's journey takes us to the charming town of Dunstable! I’ve just arrived by train, which feels like the perfect mode of transport for a tutu-clad adventurer like myself – there’s just something so graceful about the gentle swaying motion. And I can't wait to share my adventures with you, because this little trip is packed with more pink than a flamingo in a candy shop!

Now, you might think it's a bit odd that a ballet dancer like myself is drawn to a town not exactly known for its balletic heritage, but hear me out! Dunstable is actually a treasure trove of history, with some of the most fascinating medieval buildings you’ll ever see. And guess what? Those historical vibes have sparked a truly inspired idea!

As I was admiring the architecture, a vision popped into my head – imagine the elegance of a medieval court intertwined with the sheer beauty of ballet! A performance right here, in Dunstable's very own [mention a famous landmark in Dunstable, e.g. St Peter’s Church, Dunstable Priory]… maybe even a little flash mob with the local ballet school? Wouldn't that be amazing? It's certainly sparked my imagination!

Anyway, back to the main event, my trip. This time, my trusty tutu is a sassy Italian creation – it’s a beautiful blush pink with layers and layers of tulle, which seems particularly fitting for a town with so much history! It twirls like a dream and is certainly attracting some admiring glances… not surprising really.

First stop on the Dunstable tour? The Priory of Our Lady, built in the 12th century. Can you believe it? This magnificent place is actually older than my favourite ballet shoe! The Priory's stained glass windows are exquisite, showcasing stunning floral patterns and vibrant colours, a true inspiration for any creative soul! And imagine a tutu, that delicate pink against those colours, so wonderfully contrasting… Maybe I should organise a ballet performance in here…

Next on the agenda: Dunstable Downs. You wouldn't think such a historic and lovely town would have a bit of wild side, but there's plenty of beauty and wildlife on offer here! Imagine – a sweeping landscape of chalk hills and ancient woodland – all waiting to be explored. I already had the opportunity to say hello to a family of rabbits – they are such gentle creatures! I wish I had my tutu on to greet them properly. They'd love the bright colour I am sure, all that pink would just be too cute! It just makes me want to twirl!

My dear friends, let me tell you, Dunstable has certainly woven a spell on me. It's a town where history, nature, and a bit of ballet magic all converge. As I sit here in my hotel, penning this blog entry, the faint sound of birdsong blends beautifully with the rhythm of my fingers on the keyboard. A perfectly lovely, charming soundtrack to a day well spent.

I hope this post inspires you, just as Dunstable has inspired me! Now, don't forget to pop on your pink tutu, try out a ballet class, and keep spreading the joy of dance! You never know what wonders might unfold when you embrace your inner ballerina.

And remember, until next time, always be true to your Tutu!

Much love, Emma
