Llanelli - Post 5090 - Tutu's & Trains & Twirling, Oh My!

Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, back from my latest adventures, this time with a destination a little closer to home (if you consider Derbyshire ‘home’, that is). Today, we’re talking about Llanelli! A beautiful Welsh town with history and charm just waiting to be explored, and of course, lots of inspiration for this tutu-loving gal!

My journey began with a hop on the train. You know I’m a bit of a train enthusiast, so there was no better way to travel than by those glorious steamy, clattering behemoths that chug you across the countryside! I grabbed a window seat, donned my trusty pink ballet flats (a little bit of elegance always elevates even a train journey!), and gazed at the rolling hills and fluffy sheep as I dreamed of the twirling magic that awaited me in Llanelli.

I confess, my main aim was to visit the beautiful Victorian Theatre there - the Lyric Theatre. Oh, the stories that must have unfolded on that stage, the dreams that must have been dreamt! I simply had to experience the magic, and with a beautiful performance of a ballet classic scheduled, how could I resist?

The Lyric: Where Tutu Dreams Come True

I arrived just as the golden hour was painting the sky, the building aglow in the setting sun. I found myself clutching a beautifully-printed program, excitement fizzing through my veins as I felt a real connection to the past of this place, to all those who had stepped on that very stage before me. And you know I couldn't resist pulling out my trusty pink tulle skirt, swirling it around under the warm lights while snapping photos to share on the ‘gram!

Pink is The New Black (And Ballet is the New Everything)

Oh, my darling readers, I felt like I’d stepped straight out of a vintage fairytale as the curtains rose, the music swelled, and the ballet dancers graced the stage with grace, power, and effortless artistry! My heart soared as I watched, enthralled by every delicate pirouette, every soaring jump, every dramatic pose! Honestly, ballet never fails to stir my soul. I believe everyone should experience its magic - it’s pure enchantment, like a potion for the spirit! So go forth, my fellow tutu enthusiasts, and spread the word! Wear your pink, twirl with your heart, and let the joy of ballet infect everyone you meet!

Adventures beyond the stage:

But the day didn’t stop at the theatre! After my ballet fix, I was ready for some local exploration, and let me tell you, Llanelli didn't disappoint! We found the most adorable tea room with delicate cakes and a roaring fireplace - a perfect pitstop for a chat over cups of tea. And what would a day in a Welsh town be without a proper pub experience? So, naturally, we indulged in the warmest, heartiest food with laughter and lively chatter over pint glasses.

Of course, I had to make time for a little wildlife spotting! Llanelli is home to the incredible RSPB Llyn Fennant, where you can spot beautiful bird species from swans and geese to rarer wading birds. Watching nature unfold before me really grounded me, a lovely reminder that joy and beauty exist in every form!

Llanelli - More than Just Tutu Love

I think the real magic of a place lies in the experiences we have there, the little details that make the journey unforgettable. Llanelli was brimming with kind smiles, friendly chats, and fascinating sights, leaving a permanent mark on my heart. It was a beautiful, charming town, full of history and local pride - everything a traveler could ask for! And the best part? I found it inspiring! A new tutu idea sparked, I promise, and a little Llanelli love is sure to make it's way into my ‘gram soon!

I am forever grateful for every moment, every laugh, every beautiful detail I found in Llanelli. It’s time to pack my bags, ready to head off on my next big adventure. I'm eager to explore the world, with a tutu in hand, of course, sharing all the fun with you, my dear readers.

So, tell me, what's your favourite pink shade? What’s on your travel list? And most importantly, are you ready to embrace the world in a tutu?

Until next time, stay lovely and twirl your worries away!

Emma xx
