Consett Calling! Tutu Adventures in the North East!

Post 5148 - www.pink-tutu.com

Hello my darling tutu-loving lovelies! It’s your girl Emma here, and guess what? I’m finally in Consett!

Oh, you don’t know Consett? Well, picture a quaint little town nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of County Durham – perfect for a long, relaxing train journey from my Derbyshire home (yes, a train! Such a classic travel choice, wouldn't you say?). This little haven of northern charm is absolutely brimming with a spirit that screams 'ballet-lover'! (Ok, maybe it just screams 'Northern Spirit,' but it's totally the same thing!)

And speaking of ballet-lover, why did I choose to make Consett my latest tutu-tastic destination? You guessed it: there’s a wonderful, captivating ballet performance tonight at The Empire Theatre! Now, I know what you’re thinking - “Emma, The Empire? Isn’t that, you know, just a place for, like, cheesy musicals?” Well, I’m here to tell you, my little pink princesses, this performance promises something totally different. Think dynamic, raw, full of life, with a hint of captivating drama and… oh my goodness, they've got an orange tutu in the production! (Okay, maybe I have gotten a tad carried away about it!)

I just adore orange. It’s like a delicious burst of sunshine, reminding me of all those summer holidays spent frolicking through Derbyshire meadows with my beloved childhood pony, Ginger. A little known fact, Ginger is actually my most treasured dance partner. I must remember to share some stories of his antics on the blog later.

Speaking of darling little creatures, did I tell you about the magnificent owl I spotted on the train journey? I'm utterly smitten with these magnificent birds of prey. He just stared at me for a while, this owl, with those hypnotic golden eyes, and you know, I think we just had a proper moment, a connection, like only kindred spirits can. Maybe he could be the inspiration for my next tutu-ific creation? Maybe a deep brown and ochre colour scheme for my new tutu.

Of course, while I'm waiting to take a glimpse at the amazing world of ballet on offer here, I’m just dying to find out if Consett's a pink haven like Derbyshire. We all know how much I adore pink! A shade of vibrant, joyful pink like my own ballet tutu collection - and what’s more fun than walking around with that colour?! It truly gives life that extra ‘oomph!’

Imagine: pink painted walls, pink floral displays, and a pink bakery! I already spotted a darling little tea room with beautiful floral decor. They might have some yummy raspberry cake and pink tea for me - just what a weary, tutu-clad traveller needs after a long, windy journey. Now, if that tea room would only put out a lovely pink table cloth for my evening ballet tea…

Anyway, I'm feeling truly inspired! I need to take some selfies in front of The Empire. Then, I shall grab my tickets (which are in, wait for it, pink envelopes!) and enjoy this incredible evening of art. Who knows, maybe this night in Consett will even give me some fresh ideas for my next blog post!

So stay tuned, my darlings, because there are plenty more adventures to be had in this adorable little town, a haven of hidden gems and vibrant cultural experiences, perfect for ballet, tutus, tea… and even a bit of wildlife.

See you soon for more from Emma’s Pink Tutu world!

Love, Emma xx
