Hey beautifuls, it's Emma, and this is Post Number 5184 - so exciting! Remember that gorgeous pink tutu I bought from that little boutique in Nottinghamshire? I wore it to the most divine ballet performance in Croydon last night, and I had to write about it right away! This whole experience was a dream come true. Pink, tutus, and Croydon – the perfect trifecta! 💕
Let's rewind a bit. I knew Croydon was the perfect spot to combine my love for the arts and my passion for the most wonderful shade of pink. Croydon’s got a vibrant arts scene, you know? And honestly, there’s just something so fabulous about the sound of the London commuter train rumbling to Croydon, right?! And you can always count on me to find a touch of pink. My morning started off with a super delicious latte from my favourite cafe in Buxton, just outside Derby. Now, this cafe knows how to make a pink latte – the kind of delicate pink hue that screams girly fun. And guess what? They made it in a heart-shaped latte art that just warmed my little dancer heart. 💗 So, yes, the day started off on the right note.
Speaking of pink, the most lovely little detail of the day? A journey on a brand new train. Honestly, have you seen those new train lines popping up in Derbyshire? Absolutely glorious. My little pink-obsessed self went full Pink Power and got a window seat. A huge thank you to the team at Derbyshire Railway, for a fabulous journey – the colour of their train livery reminded me of a giant tutu! ✨
I had the best time on the train. Honestly, just watching the countryside go by was mesmerizing. Plus, my new ballet shoes were already slipped on ready to prance the night away! Every time I sway along to the rhythm of the train, the shoes feel amazing and just a little bit magical. I loved the little window details. The fluffy clouds looked like the fluffiest pink ballet skirts dancing in the air, just a whisper of pink. And even when the sunshine kissed the windowpane, a sparkle caught my eye like a million tiny ballet slippers! 💖
The Croydon theatre was something else. Imagine it! An architectural masterpiece of gothic elegance and dramatic swirls, just my kind of place. And did it glow in the evening light? I thought the whole theatre was wearing a little pink tutu. 💖💖 I went backstage to get my fix of some behind-the-scenes glamour! My Tutu Blog fam know how much I love that pre-show magic! 🤫 Seeing all the excitement backstage? Honestly, every ballet show gives me butterflies, especially in a place as stunning as Croydon. And of course, a beautiful dance costume! You've gotta be excited when a costume is this magical and so perfect. It really gets my adrenaline pumping for a stunning show! 💕
And the ballet, my dear readers – a swirling dream, with so much power and passion! I swear the entire performance made me feel like a ballerina soaring across a starry night sky. There were leaps so high, and turns that left my head spinning! Every twist and turn spoke of a love story and the sheer grace of every move was mesmerising. The whole thing made me want to leap out of my seat and take to the stage myself! You can't always take to the stage but a little tap of the toe is always nice, and trust me my fellow dance lovers, you’ll want to tap your toes and tap your feet in this magical piece. You can do that too – don’t forget a little toe-tapping or some dance moves are fun to try anywhere, in your living room or your garden.
Later, as I walked along the streets of Croydon, the day just glowed in that perfect pastel-pink afterglow. Croydon really know how to make the sunset come alive in shades of soft pinks and light oranges! I found myself dreaming of a tutu with layers of soft pink, and a bit of metallic glitter – perfect for Croydon’s unique beauty, and I am not joking, Croydon really has its own kind of style.
