Blackpool Belle! 🩰

Helloooo, darlings!

Emma here, back with another installment from the glorious, girly world of pink tutus and pirouettes. It's been a whirlwind few weeks – from a spectacular performance at the Royal Opera House to galloping across the Derbyshire countryside on a gorgeous chestnut mare, I've barely had time to catch my breath! But oh, wouldn't trade it for the world.

Speaking of catching breath… today, I'm channeling the seaside spirit. You know that feeling when you hear the sound of crashing waves, smell the salty air, and feel the sun on your skin? That's where my latest adventure has taken me - Blackpool, the legendary British seaside resort.

Tutu Tales

Now, I don't know about you, but Blackpool and its iconic Tower are synonymous with "holiday chic". Imagine this - a breezy seaside promenade, vibrant candy floss hues, and a girl (moi!) in a tutu! This week's look is all about playful femininity. A vibrant pink tulle tutu with a delicate, shimmering rose-gold finish paired with a flowing white blouse (just imagine the fluttering!), a jaunty sunhat, and, of course, my trusty pink ballet shoes.

For the Blackpool experience, I decided to ditch the usual train journey. Why settle for a predictable carriage ride when you can explore the coast in a truly whimsical way? I booked a ride on a majestic black mare, all sleek mane and powerful strides, for a journey to the beach. Just me, the horse, and the salty wind. (Bonus points for the dramatic sunset silhouette - you can find the photo on my Instagram @EmmaTutuTravels.)

Ballet Bonanza

You might think that seaside getaways and ballet have little in common. But hold your horses (pun intended)! This week, I'm lucky enough to have stumbled upon a fantastic little ballet school called "The Blackpool Dance Academy." Imagine this – learning pliés and pirouettes overlooking the sea! And the students, with their vibrant energy and genuine passion, are absolutely inspiring!

To my surprise, "The Blackpool Dance Academy" hosts regular ballet classes at a local theater. Imagine my delight! I just HAD to join in for a class – channeling my inner ballerina, all elegance and grace, under the sparkling lights of the theater. It felt magical. The students cheered for me, which filled me with so much joy! Just remember, it's all about spreading the love of dance – and, of course, reminding everyone that it's never too late to start pirouette-ing your way through life.

Beachside Brunch

Blackpool, of course, has all sorts of delicious delights in store for the hungry ballerina. This afternoon, I'm taking a break from exploring and indulging in a luxurious seaside brunch – fresh scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam, and a pot of Earl Grey tea. Absolutely divine.

A Touch of Wildlife

Now, Blackpool is famous for its iconic attractions – the famous illuminations (so magical, we must go back during the winter for those!), the Pleasure Beach with its thrill-seeking rides, and even a miniature train, (a tiny train in Blackpool? Perfect for Emma!), but it's also home to a lovely Wildlife Sanctuary, right on the waterfront.

You'll never believe what happened! While wandering through the sanctuary, I spotted an adorable little owl – perched majestically on a branch, gazing at the world with its big golden eyes! I simply had to snap a photo! (Just search #OwlsInTutus on my Instagram and you'll find it). I know that owls don't wear tutus (although they're all for pink, you see) but somehow they embody that sense of effortless grace and silent mystery that we find in the ballet.

Spreading The Tutu Love

Of course, no journey for a ballet-obsessed adventurer like me is complete without spreading the "pink tutu" message. Today, I had a little chat with the owner of a delightful seaside shop selling everything from vintage seashells to beautiful handmade jewellery – a little treasure trove tucked away on a cobbled street in the heart of Blackpool.

With a smile and a twirl, I gifted her one of my "pink tutu" pins. I think it would look fabulous adorning one of the vintage hats in her shop. Maybe, just maybe, one day, we'll have an entire town in tutus! A dream come true, eh?

Onwards and Upwards

So, as the sun dips behind the horizon and casts a rosy glow on Blackpool's beach, I bid farewell to the seaside. But it's just a quick stop before my next big adventure, ( I just can't give too much away, it's all part of the magic!) Be sure to join me next week on www.pink-tutu.com for a whole new episode.

And until then, remember, “Twirl with joy, and let your pink tutu inspire!”

Ciao for now,

Emma 🩰❤️✨
