Taunton Tutu-Tally! - Post #5274

Oh my darlings, I'm back with another post! This time it's all about a recent whirlwind trip to Taunton, which felt so much like stepping back in time...but with a sparkly pink twist, of course!

A Tutu-filled Train Journey

Now, we all know my absolute favourite mode of transport is the good ol' steam train, don't we? (Whisper it - even more than horseback riding!). So, my journey to Taunton was just about perfect! The chug-a-chugging and the views, oh the views, they were utterly mesmerising. The best part? My beautiful, new tutu travelled with me! A stunning shade of lilac - it perfectly matched the amethyst twilight.

I wore my usual travelling outfit – comfy but stylish, a flowing cream blouse, leggings, and knee-high boots - my trusty travelling ballet flats stashed in my bag just in case. (A girl’s got to be prepared, don’t you think? You never know when a ballet-worthy impromptu performance may appear!)

A Glimpse of Country Charm

Arriving at Taunton, I felt like I was in a fairytale town! All the charming cottages with their half-timbered walls, the flower-filled gardens spilling onto the streets… It was like walking through a watercolour painting, only with a dash of sparkle and laughter from my twinkling tutu. The locals seemed just as lovely, with friendly smiles and a genuine warmth, it was simply enchanting.

A Spot of Wildlife Watching

Now, my dears, a secret: Taunton is not just a pretty face. It’s also a wildlife haven! Just a little wander through the lush greenery, and I found myself amongst a symphony of birdsong, with playful squirrels darting around and fat little ducks waddling near the river. It’s so amazing how nature can provide such tranquil moments, like a breath of fresh air for your soul.

Taunton's Hidden Tutu Gem

Speaking of fresh air, I did have a purpose in venturing to Taunton beyond the scenic charm - I had discovered a hidden tutu treasure: a little independent dancewear shop called "Tutus & Twirls." Imagine my delight when I walked through the door, and saw row upon row of dazzling tutus in every colour imaginable! My eyes were truly glittering. I even managed to score myself a magnificent magenta tutu - something a bit bold for my everyday adventures. I can't wait to show you a photo later, it's truly breathtaking!

Ballet Under the Stars

Later that evening, the Taunton Ballet Company had a special performance - a magical under-the-stars ballet spectacle. I secured a seat in the front row, with a view so close you could practically count the dancers' eyelashes. It was a breathtaking performance filled with such incredible energy and talent.

The dancers glided across the stage with such grace and strength, I felt inspired just watching. Seeing so many different dance styles, from traditional ballet to modern choreography, reminded me how diverse and exciting ballet truly is! The audience was just as energised, with laughter, cheers, and even a few tears as the final curtain fell.

A Farewell Kiss to Taunton

It was a bittersweet farewell as I left Taunton the following day. My pink heart filled with memories, a new tutu, and a fresh spark of inspiration to take on my next ballet challenge! It really makes you think, don't you? This whole journey - life, travel, dance, and especially tutus - is such a grand adventure, it’s about taking the plunge, being daring, and most importantly, spreading some pink joy wherever you go. Because after all, that’s what makes life so fabulous, don’t you agree?

Until next time darlings,

Emma
